Deck Description

This is a Mono White Beat deck that morphed into a "protection from everything" deck. the basic idea is to use brave the elements, gods willing and as many creatures with natural protection abilities as possible to stop the opponent in their tracks.

i switched out fabled hero for boros reckoner because while the double strike interaction with gift of orhzova and ordeal of heliod was really sick, boros reckoner is way better.

seraph of the sword is protection from combat, and flying gives her protection from medomi and desecration demon.

How to Play

Biggest tip i can give is don't worry about your one drop. the curve is really low but the deck is designed to play big beats turns two and three then upgrade them with auras.

i always play imposing sovereign over precinct captain. imposing sovereign gains you a turn or two against aggro decks, and precinct captain is way better when you lose your field against control. imposing sovereign trumps elspeth, assemble the legions, even stormbreath (and it's really your only interaction with stormbreath besides brave the elements and gods willing).

your turn three is usually going to be "two drop with brave/willing backup" unless you have a field that absolutely NEEDS reckoner.

one of the decks most powerful lines of play: t1: favored hoplite t2: ordeal of heliod (swing) t3: ordeal of heliod swing for 6 gain 20 life. most opponents just scoop.

gift of orzhova does everything you need in this deck. evasion on attack and defense, along with lifegain to stall and as an alternate win condition (i often get above 40 life).

your field will often be two or three creatures stalling their field and one attacking. this makes combat a very important step. This is a deceptively skill-heavy deck.
