Deck discussion for Arcbound Affinity

Kotaki/Shatterstorm would make short work of this deck!

i live in WA and trying to get a hold of older cards is like trying to find ancient Egyption relics unless there on ebay and even then its tough

I had a 90k collection of them when i lived in Kirkland, and that was just a few months ago. My problem was that so many people refused to play anything but Standard, so my cards were useless.

joande,

I agree, but I'd still play the deck. You shouldn't forgo a deck due to fear of a few cards.

It's not a few cards! When so many of them are sideboard staples in just about every competitive formats it isn't fear it's just common sense.

You should run just ten lands you can't forgo a deck just because your afraid of mana-drought! You should run only creatures that cannot block you shouldn't forgo a deck due to fear of getting beat down. You should run cards of every color of mana with multiple mono-colored casting costs like gravepact and kodama of the north tree you shouldn't let fear of uncastable cards forgo a deck due to fear!

why even run lands! Are you afraid! ; )

Wow. Apparently you took my comment personally. The "You" in "You shouldn't forgo a deck..." was meant to be interpreted as "One." "One shouldn't forgo a deck..."

Also, I know there are more than a few.

There are cards that can decimate any deck. Every Yin has a Yang. Pointing out the Yang to my Yin just doesn't seem like a good constructive comment to me. Although, this is the interwebs. I shouldn't expect much more than that.

he has presented his ying as the deck and you simply presented the yang in beating it. There is no wright or wrong the case is that if you were to make a deck that was based around beeting this deck you would simply get beaten by another deck the beaty of this game is that there is no unbeatable deck it comes down to chance on many occasions. He is playing an artifact deck and in his deck he has a 100% chance of drawing an artifact how many artifact destruction cards are you planning on playing?

Affinity isn't played in competitive extended because of Kotaki, Boros dissapeared from the competitive environment because of sulfur elemental. There's a big differance between shatter and kotaki. Kotaki is a one card win condition against this deck whereas shatter would be a minor annoyance. What Yang would you use against G/W goyf that would be as effective as Kotaki or Sulfur Elemental? Nothing right because this isn't a simple matter of "how much artifact destruction are you playing.

A pure artifact deck is as strong and dependable as daming a river with cotton candy!

One of the biggest problems with this site is a lot of the posters have never actually played the game in any meaningful way!

no we have jobs and other things that keep us interested all you seem to talk about is kotaki whats more meaningful than having fun and enjoying the game

I've mentioned Kotaki in less then half my posts including this one. How is playing the game well incompatible with having fun or enjoying the game? You assume I don't have a job? Interesting!

Arcbound ravaged costs 25 bucks each. I'm not sure it's worth it to put on arcbound ravager.

Affinity artifacts are Always a competitive deck. I don't know s hat format your going for but it's illegal in modern. They banned seat of synod, tree of tales, vault of whispers, great furnace, and ancient den.

Cant say im a fan of this one. Running a ton of lands, albeit to get your affinity, but if thats what your going for why dont you just run 0 drop creatures? You have no draw power for when you drop your hand, no form of control, and really no way to slow down your opponent or speed yourself up. You could drop all the lands, run cloudpost, vesuva, and glimmer post. That would give you more mana overall with a higher chance of drawing more needed cards. To fill in the other spots you could run Mimnites, ornithopters, walkers, Etc.

Sure you lose a little bit of affinity, but your not really needing that much anyways. Throw in a All to Dust and you should be able to win like turn 4-5

Agreed, this deck needs some sort of draw, your going to play your whole hand quick, and tbh won't have have won by the time your going top deck mode =\

Topdecking in a totally casual game is FUN. Its like a lottery...you are just waiting for the one card that will pwn your opponent.
But in anything else, Its horrible and disturbingly Irritating.
