Actually the 0/0 germ token does trigger Mentor of the Meek's ability.
For the deck I'd say ditch the blades for Dismembers and play less tutors. I'm bit sceptic about the whole equipment theme, but if it works for you keep it.
If possible, try to find room for some Sun Titans. Great synergy with Perilous Myrs which should be in the main deck as well.

I'm sure you couldn't possibly mean it's possible to have both Elspeth Tirel and Elspeth, Knight-Errant in play at the same time? =)
The legendary rule applies to her subtype: Elspeth as well.

Hi, thanks for comments!
I've been pondering all the cards you mentioned and I've yet to make my mind. The reason for not including Glint Hawks is the lack of Moxen and Ornithopters from previous standard Tempered/Hawkward. They're still pretty decent with Spellbombs and other 1 cmc artifacts, but I'd rather manage without.
I'm running 4 Inkmoths and that's why I decided to ditch Warzones. It's crucial to get Tempered Steel out and they're not worth the risk.

I've got to playtest this more to see whether Bladeholds are worth their while, I agree they're the most awkward cards here. On the other hand I like how the Smith works with Spellbombs, memnites, Skirges and other 1 cmc cards but I guess I'll just have to see.

The DOJs are my brainfarting, they're obviously supposed to be in the side deck and Dismembers belong to the main :S.
I took a peek at your similar deck and I've got to admit it's pretty darn fast. Might be I'll take mine to the sam direction.

Damn, I'd love to try out this deck if those damn spellskites wouldn't cost me an arm and a leg!
Looks very promising indeed!

Above yours was a deck like this. Plain and simple.

And then you realize that with the architects (and you should add 2 more zygma) you can cast the engine easily as early as turn 3. This deck supports itself very poorly unless you'll be able to copy a lord with an image thus keeping your other illusions alive. Without the Wurmcoils and Legionnaires it'll be very hard to survive if your lords or images get countered/killed.

My friend plays an illusion deck with 4 images and 4 lords and if both of them aren't on the field he has no hope against, let's say, my infection deck. Wurmcoils and batterskulls on the other hand are quite another matter.

Well, I hope zygma'll get something out of this conversation.

Agreed about the Precursor golem and steel hellkite, but I think you should keep the legionnaires. Add 3 more Lords and Images, get rid of thopters and all mind controls. Put in treasure mages and wurmcoils as your bombs. Ponders for preordains imo too. I like Adepts for bouncing but you should at least sideboard Disperses in case of Venser combos and such that'll likely ruin your day.

That's how I'd play illusions.
Please take a look at my decks and throw in some ideas!

Btw you have six mind controls in your deck :D.

Hah, thanks man! I have to try this out at FNM, but it should work alright.

Also, I think I'm gonna sideboard a couple of Triumph of the Hordes.

Perhaps 2 Vampire Nocturnus instead of Bloodlord of Vaasgoth and Lashwrithe? In general I think you need someone to pump your vamps. Might I also suggest to at least to sideboard 2 more Hex mages in case of Planeswalker-based decks?

Otherwise I like the build, always fun to play vamps.

I agree that protecting Melira should be handled better and I've got a few boots in my sideboard already. I would've used Canopy Cover but since it's rotating out so soon I decided not to bother because I'd like to use this when Innistrad is around.
Hex Parasites are mainly in for removing Planeswalkers and counters from Monstrosities when Melira's not around but Glissa's another matter so I'd need something to replace her with. I'll have to see whether the new set gives us anything like Canopy Cover which is one of my favourite cards of all time. Perhaps I could use Spellskites but I haven't had luck finding them anywhere... Also Asceticism is a bit too heavy on cmc.
I have Autum's veils in the sideboard and Apostle's blessings as well, so at least point removal can be theoretically countered.

Many thanks for the comments and I liked the Melira + persist theme a lot! Too bad I'm not much familiar with the Legacy format though.
