My friend tried to make this deck tourny quality he gave up when people can exploit the swans more than he can. pariah does prvent dmg to u by redirecting dmg to swans but ownership stays so your opponent will be drawing answers. i like the masticore as a draw engine does give you 3 cards per turn but again creatures are easy to kill in type 2. in the new set against swans there is now path and terminate which i think will be ran in any deck that alows also with decks that run thought hemrage u are screwed if it drops. I think the deck works in theroy but if you go up against any serious player u are looking at hard times.
@mithoff: I am considering splashing black for Underworld Dreams. That would basically turn this into a Swans/5cc hybrid/variant. I'm not extremely worried about losing masticores. They serve as an alternate wincon and extra easy card draw. But! The beautiful thing here is that pain lands work with pariah and swans to draw cards whenever I tap for mana. Also, I don't mind if they draw lots of cards as well. I have counter magic to stop what I need to stop. If they draw too many cards, I'll use Jace to Deck them.
One thing that would be hilarious is someone pulling an anthemancer out. There are NO basic lands in here. With swans/pariah out, anthemancer will generally mean 5+ free cards.
Actually, I could put Anathemancer in main deck if I splashed black. Hah! (target myself)
i like this deck alot. well, there's my 2 cents.
