Control deck with the win condition of Mazes End.
Protecting yourself until you can get your guildgates out is paramount. With this deck you will love playing against creature rushing decks, but be prepared to deck a good amount of damage until approximately turn 5. After turn 5 you can use your protection fogs liberally to keep damage down to a minimum. Your fogs are in effect time walks to keep the game moving. Spells like Negate, and swan song should be used only on specific cards like Pithing needle, Ashiok and or any other land destroying spell. Supreme verdict and Merciless Eviction should be used to destroy devotion generating permanents. These are things to watchout for and the most detrimental to your deck.Ashiok: even one pop of his +1 ability can destroy your win condition Jace, Mind Adept: his +1 and +0 both mill you and hurt your win conditionNightviel spectre: in the same league with Ashiok because of the exileMill decks: if your metagame contains a lot of these then sideboard more graveyard recycling.Burn decks: You will eat a lot of damage, be prepared to side board in more counters and life gaining to stay ahead of their burn. Gray Merchant: its direct damage can hurt youObzedat: again direct damage Mogis: again direct damage hurts. Win conditions:Rakdos's return can save your life and do just enough to get you the win.Elspeth can protect and overwhelm the opponent when you have control of the boardMazes End is your main win conditionPsychic Spiral can give you a passive mill win but I wouldn't expect it.
