TheCheck Dual-Lands are placeholders for Theros dual Lands.General Idea is to play control for a bit, while using Deathrite and Scavenging Ooze to deal damage/heal. Grisly Salvage and the Mill helps them immensely. Lotleth Troll is a great blocker with Regenerate.Hidden Strings is also great with Lotleth, and will allow you to have a lot of extra mana, or untapping your own creatures. Works great with Deathrite if you need more life, or to deal more damage.Sideboard needs a lot of working. As I play more decks, I'll figure out what I need. Generally I swap out the Essence Scatters for the Negates against other Control decks.I'd like to add some more Mill to it, but I am not quite sure what I would take out.

This is actually really cool, I'm a huge fan of the buggish colors, and have been trying to think of a post-rotation bug deck that would be fun to play.I would say sideboard is almost impossible to tell exactly. If this is designed for post-rotation, then you never know what might be good after rotation. I guess for now just try to deal with the most basic decks like Aggro, Control, and the oh so loved Jund Mid-Range.Excellent looking deck though.

Looks nice, maybe get 2 traumatize in instead of the Grisly salvage? I understand the value of the salvage, but on the other hand, half opponents deck in one go will give a lot of food for your ooze and shaman as well as turning the aberration huge.
I've actually thought about decreasing some of the Essence scatters, for a bit more mill. Traumatize is great, and is better than Mind Grind, IMO. The only thing I like more about Mind Grind is I can play it a bit sooner. Since Milling isn't a Primary WinCon, I'm okay with less mil. Traumatize is pretty much the best Mil Card around though. It's a touch choice, since I want to keep the curve rather low.
"post rotation" with checklands.
The Checklands are placeholders for the Dual Lands that are confirmed to be in Theros. They may not be checklands, but there will be dual lands.
link to wizards saying there will be dual lands please.
http://www.wizards.com/magic/magazine/article.aspx?x=mtg/daily/ld/254Here is a relevant quote here for the Article"Again, I believe the lands we have in place for Theros block are wonderful, but they do not offer the same level of ease and power with three-color mana bases as the shockland/M10-dual-land combination."
thank you
That wasn't a confirmation of dual lands, just an inference made on the premise that Wizards wouldn't shirk Return to Rav/Gate Crash/D Maze by only having half the buddy lands post rotation. It's a good inference no doubt, but a dubious one based on the hope Wizards does the right thing. We shall see.
There is more info than that, please read this thread.http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/showthread.php?t=521641Here is a thread for more info on it, lol.
How are you sure that Theros will have checklands?
Theros won't have Checklands, but it is confirmed to have dual lands.
I like how the deathrite can help you play things from the nightvale. good synergy but what about dimir cutpurse instead to get more parts of your plan instead of theirs. I think some kind of enchantment hate will be necessary post-theros.
Well, I want to keep it standard, so I can't use Dimir Cutpurse, otherwise I totally would.I agree, about the Enchantment hate. Abrupt Decay can help with that, but if it's as heavy as implied, I'd probably need some more.I wish I had some more Card Draw, but with Thought Scour leaving, there isn't much. Pilfered Plans isn't bad, but it's 3 cost, which makes it somewhat expensive with no ramp or extra mana. Last Thoughts is priced way to high because its'a a Cipher card.So much I want to put into this deck, just not enough room!
Quicken is a simple pay 1 draw card, but it doesn't do much other then that. Though if you had the extra mana near, you could quicken into hidden strings or mill 5 on their turn to tap something down or simply mill when they go to draw a card and hope to nail a nice top deck?It seems a bit weaker, but I guess it's always there if you ever wanted to give it a test.
pilfered plans is better than divination, and we both know that saw play. lol
Nice deck, I have something similar I'm working on. http://www.mtgvault.com/acteon/decks/golgari-agro-mill/ Might want to thrown in a Breaking // Entering for some more mill?
If I may make one suggestion, I would recommend possibly running one or two cyclonic rifts. I have a feeling that post-rotation a lot of people will be running Burning Earth to try to catch people playing three colors.
Two things, if this is truly post Innistrad then all the buddy lands must go. Secondly, the Dimir Keyrune is unblockable and you can attach ciper to it which will stay even after it becomes an artifact again. Looks good though, you have a leg up on most of us who are still trolling around with Innistrad.
Post innistrad rotation is still alot of guess work... Keep up with spoilers to know what to expect. From what I have seen so far "enchantment theme" is an understatement.
I'm loving Immortality, Theros version of a Rancor I suppose. Let's not forget Thoughtseize is back...finally.
yup yup... <a href="http://www.mtgvault.com/poliem/">check this stuff out for me</a>
I already said that the check lands are placeholders, in my description.Dimir Keyrune may not be a bad idea, with cipher. I had not thought about that.
