I've always really enjoyed using gelectrodes in tandem with low cast blast decks. I thought I might try to fully utilize their power beside a set of isochron scepters, spell grabs, and spell copies. If the cards are kind to you, these little guys can become your enemies worst nightmare. This deck was designed for casual play.Currently looking for critiques and criticisms. I want to maximize this deck's potential and I am always looking for input or suggestions.
I like to capitalize off of the gelectrode's ability as best as I can. Keeping at least two out and getting them protected is the main focus of the deck. You can keep at least two out relatively easy with the clout enchantments, provided at least one of your scepters is imprinted with a counter.I prefer to use memory lapse as my counters, because of their hidden potential. Imprinting one into a scepter allows you to easily control your opponents draw phase as well as counter spells they try to throw at you to get rid of your enchantments or creatures. Being able to force an opponent to constantly redraw cards will slow their progress and keep your blasts safe from harm. Some of the cards in the deck were meant to be used only with the scepters. The idea behind these was to give even more versatility to the scepters, as well as provide a slightly stronger approach with them when you imprint a card that has a stronger half to it. Using research and development alongside bound and determined essentially opens up the ability to constantly retrieve your spells from the graveyard at the cost of tokens provided by development. Granted, opponents can halt your token generation by being forced to let you draw from your deck instead. This is by no means a bad thing. At the peak of its game, your Gelectrodes will be capable of dealing 20 damage a turn to creatures or players, before factoring in damage bonuses from the furnaces or servants. This is also not counting any cards in your hand, cards from your library provided by Melek, copies provided by Melek and Cloven casting, or whatever you decide to imprint onto your scepters.
