This is it. The final voltron formation of an arduous deck building process. What you see before you is my take on mono black control. The central idea here is to force your opponent to sacrifice anything on the board that they play. The strategy works against you but that is what you have your supporting cast for. Phase one of the strategy is hand and land destruction. Thoughtseize is a fearsome card and then if you pair that with a turn two Hymn to Tourach you are 3 cards down in 2 turns. As your opponent plays their lands you take them out with sinkhole and strip mine (obviously only if i was playing vintage, in legacy its 4 lakes) and set them back in the mana department as well. How about taking their creatures away too, that is what Go for the Throat is for. Once your early game spells are used up you throw your creatures down, all of whom can be brought back from the graveyard with some strategy or another. Creakwood Liege serves two purposes, he can make creatures to sacrifice or to attack with and he makes my other black creatures stronger most importantly Nether Traitor who is nearly unblock able. NOW FEATURING PHYREXIAN OBLITERATOR!!! When I saw this card I knew it was destined to be join the ranks of the cabal. Without many blockers in the deck this guy can hold the fort for you and is an awesome beat stick for exactly 4 mana (lake of the dead, duh! winning!). With Bitterblossom you get to deal with flying, have 1/1 fliers (that can be made into 2/2 with creakwood) and you get more stuff to sacrifice just in case. Gatekeeper can get around those decks that have that one BIG annoying bastard card and just fun in general. Now its time to play your major powers. Braids puts you one turn ahead of your opponent at all time in almost every situation. Smokestack is like Braids but you can pump it up according to how much cannon fodder you have out on the field. The Abyss is like a secondary braids that forces only creatures to be sacrificed giving you some variation in your attack. And there are a few cards that tie the deck together nicely. Lake of the Dead is a sometimes not too highly praised land but its basically an instant dark ritual any time you want it and all you have to do is sacrifice a swamp. And of course the keystone of the entire deck is Crucible of Worlds. This card by itself can feed Smokestack, Braids, allow you to cycle Bloodghast, can help you abuse the crap out of Strip Mine, and naturally give you an endless amount of usage out of Lake of the Dead. The sideboard got an overhaul thanks to WhiteAndBlueTheyKillYou. Pithing Needle is a far superior card to Gate to Phyrexia since its a 1 banger and you can take out all of the artifacts you are targeting in one shot. The other things I like to sideboard in for blue control are Inquisition since most of the stuff in blue is 3 or less and Extirpate since stuff like counterspell always seems to pop up at an inopportune time. The other deck type that gives this deck some trouble is zoo so for that I have Perish which is a great little board wipe and Crawlspace which can help you buy some much needed time. Comments are great!

I like it! Trust me I have played this deck before with many different decks, and this deck can stop anyone in their tracks. Crawlspace sucks hahahaha but it is super useful in this deck. I think now your best bet is to pay attention to the new sets to see if anything cools comes out that can help.

Contamination/Reassembling is just MEAN. I love Duress/Cabal Therapy, Second turn it works amazing... Curse of the Cabal is great. Braids I dislike, but this all works together really awesome don''t have many suggestions.

Yawgmoth's Will and Mortuary would fit in there too I think.
Both are interesting prospects and I can see where they would help me especially if I am running nighthawk full time and reducing crawlspace to the sideboard. However I don't know if I like the idea of removing my entire graveyard from the game after playing Yawgmoth's Will especially if here are sacrifice engine creatures getting removed since i rely so heavily on them. Mortuary again is cool and could help me but it is slightly redundant since my little guys can come back regardless(and sometimes i need them to come back right away) so really I would only be putting it in for Braids and Nighthawk if I decide to run it full time. Therefore I don't know what I would take out to make room for them. Thank you for your suggestions I may end up play testing with Mortuary.
Contamination+Reassembling owns, but I think you could add insult to injury with Grave Pact. What do you think?
Ah contamination is just one of those cards that is so damn good its hard for me to take it out (like hatred) but with braids, smokestack, AND grave pact there is just nothing you can do. As soon as you play it I am going to make you sac it so that is a very interesting prospect. I will at the very least take a look at how that would work and proxy it. Thanks for the prospect.
Grave pact is officially in, thanks for the tip
That's more like it;) np. Tell me if it works better for you now.
