I have always loved the color combination BR and tried building many different decks around it. Unfortunately, most of the decks that were significantly different from their mono colored counterparts were also much worse. This is the most recent take on Rakdos focusing on heavy removal for a very creature based meta.
Monastery Swiftspear is a really good one-drop for a deck with that many instants and sorceries. Abyssal Persecutor: When I first saw this creature I really liked it. Unfortunately, as it turns out it is not that great, but if there is a deck that can handle its drawback, it should be this one!Terminate, Go for the throat, Diabolic edict: Some of the strongest creature removals in the game that can all hit Abyssal Persecutor, while Darkblast is another excellent recurring removal for those pesky smaller creatures that has nice synergy with the Lavamancer.Lightning Bolt and Chain Lightning are probably the best of the red damage spells.I really want to try Night's Whisper as an alternative to Dark Confidant. You get your draw right away and it helps to fuel the Grim Lavamancer and Monastery Swiftspear. But of course it also has many cons. The Lands are basically the default modern mana base. The Rest:The last four cards are open. You could also play even more removal (e.g. Dreadbore), but I wanted to add something different: Rakdos Charm gives us at least something against artifacts and graveyard, Basilisk Collar is good on any creature and we have Mogis just for the fun of it and because it fits so nicely in the topic of this deck.
