A deck all about the humans and how to make them grow huge. In Classic mono-white fashion, this deck is built around small creatures with some enchantments and protection for support.
Get your creatures out there as soon as possible and start collecting +1/+1 counters. # Getting counters # Champion of the Parish and Thalia's Lieutenant both get counters when other humans enter the field and Thalia's Lieutenant also gives counters to any other human on the board when he enters the field so just pay attention to summoning order here and you can get counters pretty fast. Remember that this also applies for Return to the Ranks, where you can end up building a lot of counters quickly depending on what is in your graveyard and on the battlefield.Phalanx Leader also gives all your creatures counters when targeted by one of your spells so any of your Instants as well as most of your Auras are going to be useful here. Remember that Conviction can be recast many times, which can let you rain counters down on your creatures if you have some mana. Collective Effort can also give all your creatures a counter.# Offense #Agro. You have a lot of creatures and they can get quite big. While any of your creatures can theoretically get big, there are two easy routes to truly huge creatures: Hanweir Militia Captain and Gleam of Authority. If you have lots of creatures, the transformed Militia Captain will be a threat without any spell support. If you have more counters than creatures, Gleam of Authority can instantly transform a creature into a monstrous threat by giving the enchanted creature +1/+1 for each +1/+1 counter on your other creatures. Just remember that it only counts the counters on *other* creatures so choose one of your creatures without a big stash of counters where you have the choice.Your protection instants can be used to make one of these giant creatures unblockable for the turn, which can be enough to end a match.# Defense #In addition to your field of creatures, you have Pariah, which can be used offensively on your opponent's single giant creature or defensively on one of your own creatures. You *can* cast Pariah on Phallanx leader for a quick round of counters but your best best is casting it on one of the Order of the Stars so that you can use their protection to completely negate damage from a single color. If you are playing another mono-colored deck, this can completely shut down their ability to cause you damage. Remember that "lose life" effects, which are most common in Black decks, are not actually damage and will still hurt you. Pariah on a color protected creature is hugely powerful against mono-colored decks and still very powerful against multi-colored decks depending on what their colors do. Remember that Faith's Shield can be used to give your Auras and other permanents protection as well as they can be used on creatures. Use these to protect that all important Pariah card.
