Deck Description

I created this deck for the sole reason that I hate slivers, and also that slivers are brokenly strong, and a sliver deck is practically impossible to beat.

note that
A. I don't actually plan on making this deck, but I will if I get good suggestions.
B. I don't have any of the cards listed.

Deck discussion for Anti-sliver

No they arent impossible, I have a GOOD one built for Legacy thats hard to beat but not invincible. If your looking for a card though, Engineered Plague does the trick usually.

thanks guys. It really annoys me because you can't go wrong with a sliver deck. like there's no such thing as a bad sliver deck. In my opinion, it's the noob's way into being good at the game.

Not really. Slivers have their weaknesses. They seem overwhelming, but there are quite a few ways around them. Their recovery is slow, wipe the field twice and a sliver deck will be cake. Early field control will slow them down to the point they might just surrender. I have 2 sliver decks. Against more aggressive decks, they win almost every time. Against control decks.. I have a harder time. Even with a focused sliver deck.

that's just my opinion. I mean, just fill a deck with relatively decent slivers and you win.

Oh god, imagine having the hivestone out in a fungus deck and an opelsced doubling season. That doesn't break magic, that breaks reality.

interesting list here. i despise slivers as well. to get them off the board i use a straight burn deck that hits both them and their owner plus when in doubt, a decree of annihilation is always handy >:D a sliver deck is only good if u LET it get rollin, cant do much when each one they drop dies a burning death.

It's funny when people think Slivers are good. Four step plan to beating Slivers:

Step 1: Declare attackers.

Step 2: When they block, Doom Blade a creature, powering down their other creatures.

Step 3: Combat kills more Slivers than opponent expected, powering down the rest of the Slivers, killing them as well.

Step 4: ??? Profit

Doom blade, ok. Regen, nothing happens. Your creatures die, because the slivers all have first strike and deathtouch too, or shroud: they can't be targeted. slivers are broken.

Ok, then use wrath effects, then play your creatures, or edicts. Or burn. Slivers are a deck where every creatures is a weakness, not a strength. Also, Slivers don't work if you never let them put creatures on the board; Counterspell them and you're all set. If you can survive the early game, then there is absolutely no reason you should lose to Slivers with a good control deck.

I have 2 problems with this deck. 1: I don't like anti-decks, because they can't do much against anything other than what they were made to counter. 2: it is far to slow to truly combat a sliver deck. The most expensive slivers are 5 mana to play. Other than that, I love the concept. i hate slivers with a passion.

I really like choice if damnations, even though it a bit costly to play. :)

The deck is nice, but it's way too overkill for an average sliver deck. You could just stick with the plague slivers and watch your opponent die.
Plus, sliver decks are not that powerful. Best case scenario, you have your average 1/1 sliver with a muscle.

Have you thought about Godhead of Awe? Turns all other creatures in 1/1 which, while it won't shut them down my any means, will still make them all be building from a much smaller base.

0

The problem with this is that most slivers are 1/1 already.

I just want it on record that I love slivers! Yes if u let them get out of hand you will not win, just for the fact they all work together to assimilate everything into their hive or destroy everything intheir path. Alone slivers are weak. But a sliver is NEVER alone. Hahaha! My best sliver deck was bant colors. It has a 80% win rate. And ill never take it apart. Lmao!!!

honestly i feel like just the fact that theres a plague sliver justifies that slivers are over powered you dont see anything like that for any other creature type yeah a few good field wipes or a good control deck, but i like to play creature based decks with cleaver schemes behind them and i feel you shouldnt have to put specific cards in your deck just to deal with one type of creature and you can say whatever you want slivers are stupidly over powered like the sliver that gives them all shroud and make it so only slivers can block slivers then theres even one that makes it so its controller cant be the target of spells or abilities

I have a buddy that built a sliver deck around might sliver on a prototype portal, paired it with parallel lives. Slivers were swinging for like four hundred trample each...can we say ouch

1 card has allowed me to beat slivers quite easily. Spirit Mantle. They cant block the creature or target it.

0

Nice deck. Has potential.

Another thing that beats slivers are flying creatures. Most of the time they don't have the sliver that lets their other slivers fly.

Or you can dust off your old elf or goblin deck and make them wish they had never even bothered....

If you're just trying to be a dick to creatures for the sake of being a dick, then do something that will actually do something

http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=340134 I put that together in ten minutes and I can almost guarantee it would be far more of a pain to slivers, or almost any creature deck

Also, if Slivers still operate like they used to, a Deathmark would be very nice as it practically reads, Pay B: Kill Target Gemhide. A Sliver deck without Gemhides is a slow mother.

Thank you so much, my friend has a Sliver deck that he claims is "undefeatable." It's about time someone stuck it to the slivers.

0

No such thing as undefeatable. Even in infamous channel fireball deck can be beaten.

I have half a dozen decks I'd put up against slivers any day

My prot deck http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=230639
If the slivers can't hit you, they can't hurt you.

I also have a goblin deck that will burn them long before the slivers gets scary and a green deck that will roll right over them.
