Trying to make something cheap that stays within the competitive range of standard, and this is the first draft towards that idea.Curious Goblin control would probably be the best description of this, using Guttersnipe as a primary win condition. Sticking Curiosity on one of them is insane.

Never thought about sticking a Curiosity onto a Guttersnipe...what a wonderfully dirty trick =]I think if you have a little extra dime floating around, you should invest it into 2-3 Runechanter's Pikes. In a deck like this, one of those would be pretty damn effective =]

Runechanter's Pike would be a powerful addition, but I wouldn't really consider adding more than two, because between it and Curiosity, I'd have the equivalent of five equipment cards. The thought of it on Delver in this hilariously powerful here, but another card it clashes with would be Grim Lavamancer. :/My friend suggested Guttersnipe with token spells to me a few days ago, and I set about forming a rudimentary version. What I noticed it lacked was counters and a decent clock, so this is what it came out as. Curiosity on Guttersnipe is a trick that I wish I could take credit for, but I was told about it by one of the local players.
Alright, no idea why it took me so long to get back to this (borderlands 2 >_>) but the thing with using G. Lava with the Pike is that you trade 1 damage for a more directive 2...in a sense at least. Have a buddy who uses the two in a spellcast deck and it kind of kicks ass =P
you say "the competetive range of standard" but use Brainstorm, Dragon Fodder, ect. which are not standard legal...Modern? either way, I might run this at FNM Modern...nice deck
I don't mean within standard, but within reach of being beaten by Standard. I'm starting high powered, and scaling back to see how it'll do is the idea with this. And thanks, it's a fun deck so far in testing, but I wonder if it's fast enough a shell to thrive in Modern personally. I hope you enjoy it if you run it though!
Guttersnipe + Curiosity is bluddy brilient, maybe I should start playing more blue... *cough* *splatter* *cough* ... Did I just say that?Jokes aside, I really do like curiosity in here and I'm contemplating using the idea, only once I can order cards again... I'm extremely low on blue cards (Curiosity included) :<Have you thought of using cheap cards with cheap~ish flashback costs to get two Guttersnipe triggers off one card?
Nice--I tried to build a standard version of this a few weeks ago, here's what I came up with: http://www.mtgvault.com/thechurchishere/decks/lobbersnipe/Basic idea being you can put curiosity on Snipe or Lobber Crew (who I realize is not that great, but I am blinded by my love for goblins), and a fair number of multicolored spells. I don't know what I would put in here to improve it, though. It's pretty smooth!
I like this deck idea a lot. So much so, that I plan to build a version of my own. I rarely play red. When I do, I usually opt for burn, but the problem has always been running out of burn spells and not being able to replace them. Curiosity and Guttersnipe can actually own in multi-player which adds to the amazing combo for me and makes it even more absurd. Now, I'm starting to wish I had not sold my Steam Vents and Scalding Tarns and my one Volcanic Island... oh well, I can make it work with just mountains and islands.
