Deck Description

The new flavour text on Smallpox is to my liking, and I've been experimenting, finding that Unmask is one of my favourite cards yet to be printed. Makes Pox possible versus combo hopefully.

Contamination Pox with a touch o' Stax, an interesting idea I hope to build upon over the week alongside a deck style Joe showed me. This has been on my mind for a while, and felt I needed to get at least the gist of it out here.

Sideboard is a work in progress, I just kind of shoved general thoughts in there. Probably never will update the sideboard here, but I will in use.

Deck discussion for Careful, it could be contagious.

lol first three cards in the deck: Pox, Smallpox, and Hymn.

Why not save yourself time and money and take 60 lands and write "I hate you" on all of them?

While that would be the easy way out, not many people would be okay with that game XD

Also, I think this would be fitting for a deck such as this. What do you think about this as the image on custom sleeves? http://www.myfacewhen.com/329/

lol that on the back of every card while playing this deck would make people soooo pissed. In other words, it's perfect =P

I also think the new flavor text for Smallpox could be looked at as a way of describing Extraction. =}

Yeah... I don't usually scoop, but when I do, it's to Extraction. I've gone toe-to-toe with Lands and Stax game one, and won, but rarely does my style of design allow for me to beat Extraction...

You could use that entirety of the new printing of Smallpox for sleeves, and it would fit perfect.

True story bro. I'll check your deck out, but I warn you like I warned the rest, if it's standard I will be utterly useless to you.

You know what would be evil? Making this Bw and splashing a Sister (look at bitter again), ET (Allows you to decrease art/enchantment counts. Maybe add a single Jitte to further abuse bitter?

You would need likely a set of Fetches and duels, and maybe replace spirit with Bloodghast? This would also let you sb StP for Recursion decks, as well as Finks for Aggro matchups

Hey, why don't you just print sleeves that have a scan of the card Pox on the back?

Wow, B/w Pox... Sounds crazy enough to work, and be even more brutal o_0

As for the sleeving it up in Pox, the idea isn't to let them know what I'm playing, but rather to let them know they'll hate it. And maybe Batman once it's done

Affinity is better in Esper :P also, burn in Orzhov makes me rotfl. I DARE YOU TO MAKE AN ORZHOV BURN DECK!

Fine.... Put Tezz, AoB on the sleeves then ^_^

While aggravating as hell, Tezz is no Batman. Batman laughing is on a completely different level I feel than Tezz :P

Also, Orzhov's idea of burn is just life drain... They're pretty good at that.

How does this deck win? attacking with fairies? because thats the only way it looks like it'll win

0

Faeries, Nether Spirit, and the opponent decking in off cases. This isn't designed to win, this is designed to just lock people out for the fun of it.

If you want wins, I'm posting a more kill oriented version later. Right now I'm looking into something Joe brought to my attention.

Ghastly Demise could work really well (once) in my Dredge edh or just Dredge in general. I've been working on that for a while tonight and need to make a few cuts. Do you think you (or anyone else who wants to) could check it out and make some suggestions for cuts?

Bitterblossom has been growing on me, actually all of the Fae, and I really want to make a Fae deck for extended/legacy

Commented what I could, it's literally the only suggestion I could come up with. The constraints of EDH aren't very good with builders like me :/

Well I also need to cut it down to 99.. Anything you think is out of place?

Hmmm, that's actually pretty interesting. Since everybody is working today, I'll actually have time to work on an Orzhov build.

Did a price check on this for shits and giggles, not to bad. $562.21 US, minus basics. I dunno about you, but that's pretty cheap for Legacy IMO.

I am as well, it's reasonable enough to play at the casual table even. I wouldn't even feel that bad about sleeving this up against the standard crowd.

Have you thought about that new enchantment Descent Into Madness? It looks like it would mesh pretty well with this sorta deck

0
Posted 08 July 2012 at 15:58

Descent Into Madness would be absolutely amazing if it wasn't for the mana cost to tell you the truth. The only reason Smokestack is including is because of how easily it fits into a shell like this, where you're already expecting to screw yourself over. At five mana you're not messing people up enough.

@TazioGiordano; Thanks, glad you like it. This is an older deck of mine, but it's still one of my favourites :D

Also, after a year this deck is on front page. That's just kind of weird.

0

This is true, 5 mana is alot for a deck that already makes you sac your lands and stuff, but I see dark rituals in your sideboard, if you ever put the dark rits in there, that card should be fine, you can play it with 2 or land out as opposed to 5

0

I've never relied on seeing two rituals in a hand, it's an incredibly rare thing in a deck such as this. You wind up playing like they never took away mana burn. It WOULD be nice to try though, I might do that this weekend if I get time to play.

@Mashitta; I'm always glad to check out decks like this, they're too fun not to :) I'm glad you liked the deck too, this one just will not give up it's awesomeness.

Thanks for all the compliments, it's always nice to hear that I succeeded in making my Pox decks evil!

I think youll like it and could deff help me out with tweakin it and such :)

And im just curious what are you using Idol for?

0

This is an old build, and getting it to the front page convinced me it was time to tinker with the frame again, so some weird old stuff like Chimeric Idol is on here. Basically I just needed something that could become a creature when I needed it to, and since Pox taps out rather frequently, it seemed appropriate. You'd be surprised at how many times I've somehow won off of them.

I would LOVE to look at your deck, I have yet to see anything referencing Bill Nye be less than awesome!

Thanks for the comment, and doubly so for it being a postive one! Contamination Pox is one of my favourite ways to build, so it's always nice to see a little love for it :D
