Deck discussion for Þökk

Nice dude. I like the use of Trinket to get out the 'Noughts a lot...very sneaky =P

Thanks man, and so far this is my favourite use of the mage.
Not sure about it overall though, something just seems off... Will hopefully get whatever it is down soon, cause this seems like it could be more fun than this.

I almost feel like you could lose White entirely and run a little CounterTop on the side...Which in turn would free up the need for MM so you could replace them with something like Ponder =]

That was one of the two main ways I was thinking of going forwards from this design. The other is a black splash for Bob, Thoughtseize, ect. The countertop plan is so far the one I want to run more, since it's been a while since I've done one.
I've thought about making ThopterTop just because of that, but then I remember that it's more boring than white stax...

ThopterTop is boring as crap man...and surprisingly fragile too =/

I've won games against it because I'd just hold onto a copy of Surgical Extraction for when they try to combo off, whilst chipping at them piece by piece with the pox aspect. Maddeningly easy game for Extraction, and maddeningly boring to play.

It's obnoxious for some decks though, so sadly it will probably stick around.

Hmm... i'd rather 4 mental misstep and 3 daze, rather than vice versa. dreadnought will be missteped a LOT, and I'd much rather win that misstep war, lol.

have you considered jace? i know you guys hate the card, but it actually is an amazing card, regardless of its frowned upon image. i dont really know where to fit him in, but 2 or 3 couldn't hurt.
besides that, I don't really see what else to add or remove, looks fairly solid.

personally, I'd choose black blue over just mono blue. thoughtseize is really good in any combo deck, and diabolic edict is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. not to mention bob has such a synergy with dreadnought! you could ditch the counterbalance combo if you did so (not a fan of counter top, D:)

just my 2 cents, :'D

Odd.. The entire reason I got on was to tinker around with splash builds, starting with black... I was going to go with Bob, Thoughtseizes, and a stalker.
Edicts are nice, but I prefer Dismember, Snuff Out, and GftT over them right now.

I tried Jace in this deck originally, but found him to be kind of sub-par in them. Jace belongs in certain decks, and can be good in Dreadnought builds, but not CounterTop ones.

Also, thanks for the input man. It's given me some ideas, and I got the U/B list up faster to tinker with because of them.

And as for Countertop, it has become admittedly a bit obsolete... Which saddens me, because it used to be sooo amazing. Either my third or fourth competitive deck was a Countertop Progenitus, so it's one of those tricks I get nostalgic about sometimes.
