very well done how so fast ?

good deck though and well described maybe that helps, i love this kind of deck that overwhelms (see my baloths deck if you wish similar in some ways) in here i think hunt of the pack is very good, all i can think of is a primevil titan would A trigger your expeditions land rfall B fetch more land for the hunt of the pack and C increase the power of th eoverwhelming stampede

very nice well done, not seen much of you for a while good to see your still building decks.

I have no idea. I didn't cheat it, and i sure hope no one else did.

When i first commented on your decks i didnt realize you were a legend. Only recently did i realize alot of youre decks are on the top deck list. :) I'm also suprised you remember me.

The evolution of this deck was sort of interesting. Today i just wanted to spend trying to figure out budget decklists, since i'm an onn and off player (as you can tell), and i don't want to sink too much money into this. First i was just focused on having wolf tokens with Wrens Run Packmaster out to make them have deathtouch. With Master of the Wild hunt out i could snipe whatever creature i wanted (even with one wolf out since they have deathtouch). I was thining about putting eldrazi monument in, since Master of the Wild produces a token a turn. Then i had llanowar elves, elvish archdruid, and arbor elf in there for mana ramp + activation for Wolf-Skull shaman's kinship (which was cool because Wolf Skull shaman also activated it). But with some playtesting, it was just too slow. It took till turn 8 or 9 for it to get going, so i scrapped it and tryed to make it more focused, and this is where i arrived.

In this 2nd version i had Primeval titan in the mix, along with Master of the Wild Hunt but both of those are expensive cards (expecially Primeval titan OMFG...). While they didnt take away anything from the deck, i felt like they didn't really add anything that made them worth the $$$, so i took them out so i could have 8 slots to add in removal or Fog or something. Any suggestions?

hey well 1stly thanks for the words, ans yep i have had some sucsess on here and i like to think of my decks as good builds but ive been sucsessfull cause of the help ive had from people since i st used this site i left magic for many years and it was hard and costly to get back into but this site and all th epeople really helped, bouncing the ideas back and forth i do remember you as far as im concerned you was there with me from the beggining of my 2nd chapter in magic and so thanks for that, yea ref the primevil titan he does cost a bomb i was fortunate enough to draft the two i own, so i understand that one and yes your right there nice and fancy but if you can function without them so be it, ref the 8 slots left garruck wildspeaker is one of the more affordable plansewalkers as he was available in pre built decks and so is a bit cheaper to get hold of what i like baout garruck hes cheap to cast gives you two land untapped the 1st go so effectivly 2 to cast and he' s capable of adding creatures each turn or at least most so if your hand dries up hes there for you, my baloth deck is all about swamping an opponent with creatures and to me any card you can carry that can produce more than 1 creature is worth it in this type of deck and he fits - also has overun abillity if you need/want it ! id play x 2 !, then green sufferes from a lack of removal but in this new set there are artifacts that get around this x 3 brittle effigys should really help cheap to cast and blow them against the really nasty stuff, also reduces blocking numbers, then you have elfs at 1 mana then its a big jump to the wolfbriar's garrucks companion is excellent value for 2 mana and will fix your curve a little x 3 of these. well done again on this.

I'm interested in MTG again because i got my gf interested. I bought here the Deckbuilders toolkit, and of course she gets a holo Jace the Mindbender in the booster. T_T So she's gung ho about it. Haha. We're both looking forward to the next pre-release, and i thought i could get some more people interested if i had 2 cheap decks that functioned well, and were an equal match and i could let them borrow 1. Also trying to get a good grasp on things, since i've never been to any tournaments other than prerelease, but i hope to someday. Standard looks kinda evil now a days though, with small set sizes the metagame seems to be focused on a few decklists... all those good cards are so damn expensive.

Anywho, i also had 2 garruks in the list before, haha, but dropped them for the same reason as the others. I think i'll add 4x Naturalize and try out 3x Brittle Effigy, and maybe 1x Garruk. Thanks for the suggestions :) If you need me to comment on anything, i'll try my best.

i think its great that your trying to get your girl and also others intrested credit to you for that i must say that i'm not one for tourniments myself i play vintage with a regular group and pretty much anything goes, so i may suggest stuff to you and others and im not sure if its type legal ect, but ive been around cards a while and love playing again, i think its great that you had the cards mentioned in mind before discussion on here but left them out till after you could discuss them i guess that others have thought of the same confimrs there worth, so yea the list you say you will add looks good play test it and see how it goes, naturalize is always good and with so many artifacts creatures coming out of scars is almost a creature removal card as wellas a artifact/enchantment killer, so good call.

id be delighted if you took a look at my eldrazi machine gun fodder deck and swamp amigo's as there currently getting built for real, and also if you have time my earlier decks never got the comments id have liked as i didnt spend much time on here when i built them and also ive heavily updated since.

i feel my best decks are my fast black and my proliferate - many thanks and i'll be sure to check what you build regular and offer what i can , feel free to ask me to comment as you build stuff.

If only. Untill you said something i thought it was becuase starcitygames says that M10 is in standard. i didn't think it was, but i trusted the site. :( Liars! They also said Time Spiral was in extended, which i know got cut last october (right?).

Theres such a big gap between standard and extended. Extended has 1650ish more cards you can use. Wizards needs to make a block like time spiral again...

Oh, and it's obvious that you didn't cheat this up. Sometimes, a deck just rockets up, I've seen it before and this is just another example. =]

Plus, who doesn't love smashing face with a massive amount of wolves? =]

One thing I'd suggest is to maybe drop down to just 2 Howl of the Nightpack and 2 Overwhelming Stampede so that you can have a smoother mana curve and put in 4 Llanowar Elves for extra mana boost. The other thing I'd suggest is to try and get your hands on at least...2 Oran-Rief, the Vastwood(s). They would be great in this deck. FINALLY, I think you should just run Naturalize in the sideboard, and in their place put either Primal Bellow or Might of the Masses (MoTM may be the better of the two in this deck with all the token making) =]

0
Posted 02 January 2011 at 15:42

Another legend! :D Talking to me. *flustered*

I NEED 4 howl of the nightpack. Lowering the Overwhelming stampede makes sense if i keep the garruks in there. Idk if im gonna keep the garruks since theyre sort of expensive. Oran-Rief i had in the list, but it comes into play tapped and although there are sometimes where it doesnt matter, most of the time i can't afford to have it come in tapped. If it counted as a forest i would use it because Arbor elf could untap it, but IIRC it isn't.

Might of the Masses is a really cool card. Ty for sharing :) Probably better than Primal Bellow, but idk if theyre worth it if my opponeny can just chump block the one wolf thats a 40/40. When used in conjunction with trample, its probably auto win, but isn't overwhelming stampede auto win already? :/

I was thinking about Master of the Wild Hunt and quest for renewal.

1
Posted 02 January 2011 at 16:05

Hehehe don't mention it. I would keep the Garruks in, because if (when) you put in Oran-Rief, you can abuse his + ability with it like crazy. The thing about a land like that is that even though it comes in tapped, it REALLY pays off fast...especially in a token deck such as yours.

Oh, and I wouldn't bother with either MotWH or QfR...both are just too slow. =]

0
Posted 02 January 2011 at 17:31

Ah, i didnt see that combo. That makes it worthwhile :) If i play it with garruk out, it doesn't matter if it comes in tapped. Awesome!

I really like the flavor of MotWH and his pictar looks cool but the dude taps all my wolves. :( Its a really cool card, but yeah too slow. And QFR is one of my favs!

I emailed this decklist to Jacob Van Lunen from WoTC for a Building on a Budget suggestion. Hopefully he'll look into it.

gaes's cradle would be awsome but i'm guessing illegal, i like the addition of the Oran-Rief,surewhynot offering up top advice again, and i'm pleased to see the garuucks there !, and those extra elves give it a speedier look, hope your pleased with this its shaping up very nice.

Years have to pass before i can start getting those free drinks. T_T Save some Pinot Grig for me (fancy :3)

I'm planning on trading/selling some cards in so i can get this deck for free, so once i have the actual cards to start playtesting with i'll see if Brittle Effigy has a place. Garruk definatley helps alot since his overrun ability is more acsessable and his +1 ability allows me to play Oran-Reif with out any set backs. Llanowar Elves and Arbor elf are essentially the same thing, so i didn't mind adding the Llanowar elves (sorta like having 8x copies). I wish i could run a 52 card deck :(.

I did a playtest today and the deck did 680ish damage on turn 9. There were 3 Llanowar elves, Briarwolf, 13 wolf tokens, 3 Battlemage Ascensions and 2 overruns on the board. :) I could kill 34 people in multiplayer! :D

if you weren't on a budget, Lotus Cobra could form the heart of your ramp and khalni hydra could fun to drop early game. especialy when followed up by an overwhelming stampede.........

Anyways, great deck. an underrated card that may help would be joraga treespeaker.

0
Posted 02 January 2011 at 16:47

Yeah, i was thinking about lotus cobra but realized that its rediculously expensive. I saw Khalni Hydra and was actually considering it :) Its essentially free after the wolf token creatures go off, but... I dont need it. Trying to get these tokens decks as focused as possible.

Hmmm. Joraga treespeaker on turn 1, turn 2 level up, tap for GG could work. Its final level up isnt worth it because it already taps for GG, and the only other creature that benefits is Arbor elf that taps for essentially G. I would replace Arbor elf with it. Thanks for the suggestion. :)

Btw, I'm trying to keep this deck as far away from elves as i can because my GF plays a deathtouch elf deck.

0
Posted 02 January 2011 at 17:06

i wasn't suggesting u use it for it's final levelup. personaly, i use it as 3 for a 1/2 with T: add GG, or if necisary a one drop who's levelup is essentialy free next turn. i would agree that the best thing for it to replace is arbor elf. you'll be surprised how much that extra G can do for you. glad that i helped.

0
Posted 02 January 2011 at 19:11

Yeah i understand completley. What i noticed is that when i dont have Khalni Heart expedition in my hand by turn 2, i usually have a Harrow or Cultivate and with Arbor elf/Llanowar elves i can play those on turn 2. With Joraga i cant. I think the early game for this deck matters more than mid-late game... so unfortunatley i dont think theres a place for Joraga. :(

Yeah, i saw that on the front page as one of the most used cards and i was thinking about putting it in. Harrow and cultivate never looked like good cards to me till i actually used them, so maybe the same could be said for Explore. I'll definatley try it out. Thanks for the suggestion. :)

I must Thank you WD40 ! First , green is a color that ( if you go see my decks, which i own in real life) i didn't expect to play because of it's fragile nature against control or burn decks. But now , i bought the cards to make this deck ( i can really say that it is indeed a budget deck for around 20$ ) and i found a really fun and aggressive deck to play !!!
Sure i added 3 Avenger of Zendikar and 1 Garruk , but ehh...When you can afford it , why not ! The nature of the deck is amazing ! Turn 4-5 for 45-60 damage with wolves or plants is simply amazing !

So, this is a great-fun-devastating deck . Congrats !
