Deck discussion for Human token mono

Well, let's see. First off, welcome to Magic! Second, for a first attempt, this is a good deck. But this isn't a deck for tokens. You have only a few cards for creating tokens, with creatures that don't do anything. Add a few more Gather The Townsfolk, Remove your Sundering Growth, Azorius Arrester, and Lingering Souls, and then add Leyline of the Meek, another Intangible Virtue, and some more Token creators, such as Midnight Haunting, Doomed Traveler, and Rootbound Defense. Populate is one of your best friends in this deck. I hope this helps, and good luck with your decks! All in all, B+

First of all, thank you for the feedback and the welcome. Doomed Traveler is a card I must have overlooked, and I will replace glory seekers, cathedral sanctifier, and azorius arrestor with them. I tried to keep mostly human soldiers due to Captain of the Watch. One thing I don't understand, you said populate is great... after just telling me to get rid of the one card I had populate on. Perhaps its hard to keep in play? I don't own very many cards with populate, the ones I do have are green. Do you recommend getting rid of my life-giving creatures? I feel if i keep them I have a better chance at odric and CotW, with elspeth's -8 ability... game over.

I must have not cleared it up properly, excuse me. Your Sundering Growth has limited uses. Also, being half-green, cards that have protection from green mean that this card's ability would be useless. Something like Rootborn Defense would be better, as it's primary ability is to Populate, Then your creatures become indestructible. Definately keep your life givers in, and maybe even adding an another Soul's Attendent in favor of only 3 Attended Knights might be better. Like I said, Leyline of the Meek would help you in this deck if you're going to go the way of tokens: If it's in your opening hand, you put it straight to the field without paying it's mana cost, then all tokens get +1/+1! Honor of the Pure would also be good, it gives all your White creatures +1/+1. Hope this helps!

If you're going for the human theme, try an angelic overseer or two as a bomb to end most games.

Phantom General might be a decent addition to this deck since its a creature token deck. It gives all creature tokens +1/+1. Only bad thing is it's a 4 mana cost.
