Deck Description

It is pretty obvious, any help would be appreciated... recently started playing and I am still learning the older cards.

How to Play

Crank out elves and buff as needed. Ramp mana to cast huge Joraga, then Magistrate him.

Deck discussion for Elves

Nissa Revane would be a good card to add to this.

I agree. I could not, however, decide on what to cut for it... Ideas?

Maybe one of the Elvish Visionary. I only say that because you're paying 2 converted mana for a 1/1. Even though the fact of the draw card ability is there, this would be one that if I were you I would take out. I don't think -1 Elvish Visionary will hurt this deck.

Elvish visionary is a nice card but he's right when he says that losing one in favor of a Nissa, would definitely not be bad.

While not playing any Chosens, the lifegain is the only perk (making it defensive) whereas the draw a card gets through my deck faster and has perfect synergy with archdruid, ezuri, magistrate, joraga etc.... I can't see that being worth it.

Alright well it's your deck man :)

I see your point Wayepicfail, but with her -7 you could bring out all of your elves in one turn.

And I see yours, but wouldn't a one of Genesis Wave be strictly better? I am honestly not just arguing to argue, I genuinely want this deck to be great.

I still like overrun better.

Lys Alana Huntmaster, Elvish Promenade, and Heedless One are all nice plays for this deck. If you want, you could splash black for a wider selection of elves. Rancor is a necessary play in any mono green deck in my opinion, and instead of playing 4 rogue's passages, play more forests. 19 land total isn't enough, even for a mono-colored deck. Usually decks have somewhere between 21-27 depend ing on the amount of colors and the mana curve. For you, I'd suggest 20 or 21 forests and 2 rogue's passages.

I have bounced Rancor around in my head a few times, but with one Joraga out all elves are large as hell, Overrun and Ezuri give me enough options to trample if need be. Lys Alana was simply missed by me, as well as Promenade. Harbinger is too awesome to cut, allowing a dig for what is needed, I can see the Nectars being cut as well as the Scouts. Heedless One to replace Ezuri is a possibility as well. Is that what you had in mind?

I was thinking 2 or 3 promenades instead of the nectars and the remaining nectars as well as the harbingers for Lys Alana and heedless ones. The harbinger ability to search for an elf is nice, but
you have to reveal it and her second ability is pointless in a mono colored deck.

Updated. I also cut a Copperhorn for a third Heedless, an overrun for an additional forest, and making one creature unblockable doesn't seem that great with the amount of elves being pumped out so I added more forests.

Also, Genisis Wave is absolutely fantasitc with big mana ramp, I run it in my elf -deck, by turn 6-7 I can usually Genisis Wave for about 25, thats 25 cards off tehtop of my deck, and I can play all permanents less than 25 mana!

I like the idea, but if I make it to turn 6 without a kill I am dead... Should combo out turn six at the latest with my test run so far.

I deeply regret not listening to you sooner. Genesis Wave is a must in the deck, normally popping off one turn 4 for 10+ is ridiculously awesome and results in scoops most of the time. Thanks and +1 to you.

Fucking elves, god I hate them, and this deck shows why...you might consider running mercy killing (use it on one of your own big creatures for some fun), fog(if you are creature or mana hurting, this can save your ass mid game), and elvish champion (more buffing your elves). Depending on how this deck plays, if you aren't seeing ezuri early game, considering running 3 instead of 2 of him. Aside from that, this is a sickly annoying deck. Kuddos to you

I started playing in November, and last month looked beyond Standard, so thank you for the kind words. Champion is nice, but I feel he is not quite needed here as much as the ramp, draw, huge buff that I have... Mercy Killing is a card I simply overlooked and am willing to see it in (nice combo with Heedless One). Any idea as to what to cut?

I think adding a Sideboard to "counter-play/alternative play" would really help this deck. ;)
