Deck Description

For those who love playing control through means of hand disruption and creature annihilation. My inspiration came from both a desire to keep mono-black classy and from big brother 8-rack in modern.

How to Play

The core of the deck strategy is simple, strip your opponent of their hand and nope what threats they manage to stick. If you can stall out then Liliana can take over the game with her ultimate. Waste not provides the potential for ramp, card advantage, or a legion of minions depending on what your opponent plays. If all else fails, Master of the feast can be used as an evasive beat stick while Soul of Innistrad provides ground support and resurrections. The sideboard strategy depends on what I'm facing.

Rabble Red and other aggro decks: Board out the souls and Lily as they're too slow and bring in the Herald's for extra pressure.

Midrange: I'll board out drown in sorrow as it only reliably hits ashcloud phoenix. I'll add the Herald's for extra pressure trusting the rest of the removal and hand control to frustrate threat production.

Control: Pull out the creature kills and bring in IN Garruk's Wake as a sweeper, Liliana, Erebos for extra draw and the other whip and waste not for shenanigans.

FNM capable yes, Pro deck heck no but I build this for fun while trying to hammer the mainstream netdecking.

Deck discussion for Your Grave My Gain

Can't believe I somehow missed empty the pits while constructing this deck! I would like to bring one or two into the main but don't know where to make the cuts. Any help would be appreciated.

I think master of the feasdt is counter productive bif you are making them discard. Why not add in mind rot, and gray merchants?

I had included master of the feast as a means of a heavy hitting blocker to stop rabblemaster, stand up a non-monstrous polukranos, and possibly serve as a subcon to win the game on his own feeling his drawback of giving the opponent an extra card was a necessary evil. Mind rot could work with the main theme very well. I had meant to take out the whip for an empty the pits leaving s lower devotion count and grey merchant as what I felt to be not what the deck needed. This reasoning came from the attitude of my meta likely nuking Lili on sight and the master's being not far behind. Part of me thought about herald of torment but found myself in situations where I would accidentally suicide with him.

Happened to me twice last night when I brought mono-black aggro to a tourney. Got lucky in a few games with the whip saving me, but I don't like depending on drawing that card when tutor options are limited.
