Deck Description

i've always really loved the Polymorph card. it's got a useful edge to it, as well as a fun randomness to it. but alas, consistency is the key to victory in my opinion, which doesn't leave much room for randomness. but friends, here today i present to you, Presto-Change-O!: The story of of an Eldrazi...

How to Play

use tokens to chump your opponents attackers. sentinels and manlands will give you some more defense on the fly to buy you some time. mirrorweave & spirit mirror combined can quickly clear your opponent's side of the field.

use Compulsive Research, Impulse, and See Beyond to rifle through your deck quickly to find Polymorph.

once you have Polymorph in your hand, PRESTO-CHANGE-O! transform one of your expendable meatshields into the only creature available in your entire deck, Emrakul.

if for any reason Emrakul ends up in your hand Compulsive Research or See Beyond can get him back into your library (either directly, or by dumping him in the graveyard, activating his own ability)

now, swing your way to glorious victory you beautiful wizard you!

Very funny deck, but maybe Progenitus would be better than Emrakul in this. Because he isn't cast with Polimorph you wouldn't get the extra turn and he has only protection from spells but can be blocked normally. Progenitus has protection from everything and is therefore unblockable

Wish Emrakul's extra turn would work but looks like Artix is right. But this looks like a fun deck, I might have to try it out.

i like emrakul because he's got annihilator 6 and also because in a pinch, you CAN just play him by casting him if you've got the mana as as backup plan. he's also got flying which does make him a little harder to block. but you can certainly use progenitus or any other fatty of your preference!

Why not have both? I see no reason why not to have both cards in the deck at the same time? Just means you'll have two horrible monsters for your opponents to deal with instead of 1 Emrakul. Also, if someone exiles Emrakul with something like Merciless Eviction for instance, you'll still be able to pull out Progenitus.

Any good blue token generators if you wanted to mono color this deck?

0

i dont think there are blue token generators, but there are a few blue sentinel cards that change from enchantments into creatures and there are colorless token generators a plenty if you want to make it monoblue.

I've made a deck kinda like this before (back when Progenitus had just come out), and I found Repel Intruders to be useful. I would probably play it over Spirit Mirror. Geist Snatch and Summoner's Bane would also work.

I would think you would also prefer Azorius Keyrune or Guardian Idol over Warden of the Wall (Polymorph is a sorcery after all).

good call with repel intruders, i retuned some numbers to get a couple of those in.

Such an awesome deck!

You only have one creature to polymorph into. A single counterspell or forced sacrifice shuts you down.

0
Posted 29 September 2013 at 13:26

you have your own counter spells. and if emrakul is forced to be sacrificed he goes back in your deck. on too of that every time you attack your opponent has to sacrifice 6 permanents. besides, it is possible to kill your opponent with the rest of your meat shields too

0
Posted 29 September 2013 at 16:44

Also your entire graveyard gets shuffled back in with emrakul as well. However, you do need to protect the polymorph from being countered, since it would even trigger emrakul's ability if you can't search for it.

you could always wait for boseiiju to hit the field then if you're really worried about counters.

This looks like lots of fun. I decided to gather the cards for this deck together. Just need to find a cheap Emrakul, hes freakin expensive...
Keep the creative decks coming, I enjoy reading your descriptions a lot.

One of my decks got a similar idea, getting Darksteel or Blightsteel Colossus first round with channel. Channel being banned ofc makes it just a fun deck for me and my friends.
As long as I don't have Emrakul, those colossuses will do the job in your deck as well hopefully.

any fatty will do. you can use progentius instead. or any other fatty that shuffles itself back into your deck. that way you only need one. I prefer emrakul because annihilator 6 means every time you attack your opponent has to sacrifice 6 permanents, which most times should clear the field for you in one or two attacks. and I'm not a fan of having cards in the deck that can't be cast manually as a backup plan.

Visno, have you ever made a myr deck? I've found myself wishing there were better unconventional artifact decks out there, especially myr decks. Do you think you could think up a myr deck with a twist?
(Sorry to post in your deck comments, I didn't see any way to message you directly)

It focuses on using myr to generate the mana for a door to nothingness. Failing that, you can just use myr tribal synergy to stomp your enemies.
