1-Turn Challenge: Red

by VintageFTW on 25 June 2013

Main Deck (60 cards)

Creatures (8)

Planeswalkers (2)

Land (22)

Sideboard (0 cards)

No sideboard found.

The owner of this deck hasn't added a sideboard, they probably should...

Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.

Deck Description

Haha, there is no way this would ever be legal. The goal is to make a deck that could potentially win on turn 1.

How to Play

You need this opening hand: 1 Mountain, 4 Rites of Flame, 1 Elemental Appeal, 1 Assault Strobe. Throw down the Mountain, then all four Rites of Flame will leave you with 11 red mana. Play Elemental Appeal and Kick it, and then use Assault Strobe. You now have a huge, angry Elemental -- 14/1 haste, trample, double strike. And that's how you win on turn 1.

might as well remove the shocks, thundrous wraths, lightning bolts, guttersnipe, fire servant and brimstone for manamorphose, gitaxian probe, street wraith, and storm entity

Thanks everybody for the suggestions, but I'm not looking to make a real deck . . . just one that COULD win on turn 1.

That is why I suggested the things I said. I suggested all 'free' card draws to get the cards you need to do that instead of filling the deck with cards like thunderous wrath, guttersnipe, etc.

That's hilarious! if i could i would so add those 12 to a deck and add 4 Curse of Bloodreckonings and make the rest into an actual playable deck of my choice. my friends wouldn't know what hit them.

Doesn't Double Strike only apply when facing another creature with First Strike ? I thought that if a creature with Double Strike attacks an opponent it only does damage once.

This is NOT a turn-1 win.

I could be wrong .... But as far as I was concerned, Double Strike DOES NOT affect damage done to players.

You are dead wrong. Double strike means the creature deals both first strike and regular combat damage. So, during the first strike combat damage step, it deals damage to its target (the blocking creature or the defending player) equal to its power, then during regular combat damage step, it deal damage to its target equal to its power.

To simplify, during combat a creature with double strike will deal combat damage twice.

Trust me, I'm a Rules Advisor.
