Deck Description

A deck that combines cascade with DD designed to make for a quick and easy victory. Please comment and provide any good suggestions and rating. I changed it up a lot since i started. It has more creature base than before.

Deck discussion for 360 degrees of total destruction

im a little confused as to the function of this deck, i understand the theme of destruction and damage but i dont think u really commit in the right way. this almost resembles a red burn deck but deviates through cards like Anathemancer....i understand his purpose but he seems out of place, perhaps im not understanding the correct function, can u please spell out the general idea here

I am trying to develop a non traditional burn deck that will do well against all types of decks in a standard tourney. The anathemancer is in here because about 95% of tourny decks contain a great deal of non basic land. The elf and bituminous blast are to drop additional free spells. The anathemancer, bloodbraid, & redcap have their great initial coming into play abilities and then they will provide a temporary defense for me while i blast away with DD spells.

Ideal Start:
Turn1 lightning bolt
Turn2 hellspark
Turn3 ball lightning, anathemancer, or blightning
Turn4 Bloodbraid elf+ free spell or redcap
Turn5 Bituminous blast+ free spell
Turn6 banefire= game over

Personally, I wouldn't run Banefires with the cascade mechanic, but that's just me. Might trade it out for Jund Hackblade, Violent Outburst, Goblin Deathraiders, Jund Charm, Ooze Garden, or pretty much anything else that can fill a position as a t1/2/3 drop, or fodder for Cascade.

Another thing I noticed... Volcanic Fallout would kill every creature you have in your deck. Boartusk/Ashenmoor Liege could fix that, or Gluttonous Slime could Flash in and eat them to power itself above 2/2.

Good point with banefire. I will rethink that. As far as volcanic fallout is concerned; i will mainly use it against decks that bring out a bunch of creatures quick(kithkin, tokens, goblins, elves). I know it would kill all my creatures, but the hellspark and ball of lightning sac @ end of turn and bloodbraid is mainly for cascade& a quick attack. The redcap comes back and deals another damage and anathemancer is mainly to deal damage when it first comes out so i don't mind destroying it after that if need be.

i'm not going to add visara cause it's too expensive in mana cost my deck has to be very fast.

and your deck seems to be shitty to play against : p
doesn't seem fun to take hellsparks and lightnings in your face turn 1 and 2
ball lighting afterwards and finish with some dammage cards.

only weekness i see is that you have no defenses and your monsters don't stay on the field .
so your creature removal is pretty needed.

I decided to replace banefire because cascade could mess it up and added demonic dread. I think this will be awesome to stop from blocking my creatures that come out w/ haste and add even more free spells for a possible quicker win. Thanks for comments and suggestions. Keep em coming.

I've developed a deck, close but not identical to this one and the only problem I had were my defenses. Like stated above it would be a real pain in the ass to play against for the first couple of turns with those Lightning Bolts, Hellsparks & Ball Lightnings, I just don't think Volcanic Fallout has enough juice to take down the tokens & potential other big threats that will be presented later game.

I'm not really sure how to fix this, so I'm defiantly not putting you down or anything. Just a thought.

I have made a few changes that i feel will make this deck stronger. I decided to sideboard volcanic fallout because i don't feel like i will always need it. It would also destroy the anathemancer and the bloodbraid elf; I don't want that because it leaves me short on defense. And on that note, I added boggart ram-gang. I feel that will help offensively & defensively. I took out the murderous redcap because i feel it slows the rhythm of the deck down. I added demonic dread because it will help offensively+more freebies. I took out blightning because i didn't feel like it really fit in. Last I added tarfire and incinerate to my DD spells. I will have to wait and see if incinerate gets reprinted in 2010 so i can keep it standard legal. Please let me know if there are any other good improvements I can make. I am serious about using this deck at a PTQ in august. Thanks ; }

Pretty solid deck. Here's some creature you could probably add: Jund Hackblade, Shambling Remains, Hell's Thunder, Spark Elemental and Madrush Cyclops. Blitz Hellion is good and fun if you have the mana. Maybe a Terminate or two might be helpful.

Looks pretty solid. How is the mana on that though? It looks like it might be a pain to get a green or black land without taking some hits for it. Have u been able to test play this at all?

I am going to be ditching the pain lands and replacing them with 2 of the new lands i saw in the new 2010 set. They will give the same colors. I am play testing with a couple of people on wed to see how it runs.

demonic dread is kinda terrible since tourney players don't block anyway btw.

Looks like this would be a good deck to play. And Zanekiller you don't need to leave comments if it has nothing to do with positive feedback. If you don't like it, get over it. And if your trying to make someone feel bad you might want to spell correctly because no one is spamming DEECKS.
