Deck discussion for Revelers Revenge

Domri's final is a monster and I personally would mb him over the other planeswalker.

Yea I was thinking about that. I put one to main and one to side so you can choose which one you want to play

Giant Growth over Hydra's Presence; so much more reliable. Same with Domri Rade over Xenagos, the Reveler; constant advantage. Might want to cut Polis Crusher for Stormbreath Dragon, and take out a Legion Loyalist and two Satyr Wayfinder for three Polukranos. Lastly, cut the three Mortal's Resolve so your deck is 60 cards.

i love how almost every comment on a new deck is "you shouldnt use that, use this!!!" normally i dont mind, but your post has him replacing almost a third of the deck. you might as well just make a different deck. while i agree that the cards you suggested are great, they change the idea of the deck. plus, not everyone can get their hands on those cards. maybe this deck is constructed? hell, i just made a xenagos deck the other day and put it on here. i got hella lucky and got 3 satyr firedancers and god xenagos, and decided to make a constructed deck. its pretty kickass for being 90% theros, but i wont make most changes that people might want simply because i dont have the cards or the money.

one thing i will challenge about your post is the bit about giant growth over aspect of the hydra. while giant growth is always a good early game choice, aspect can be much deadiler. all you need is 2 burning-tree emissary and viola! 4 green devotion right there. automatically makes it stronger. now yes, if a creature dies, then its validity goes right out the window. but not everyone is going to be packing supreme verdict or an overloaded mizzium mortars. just sayin...

A lot of ppl on this site seem to think everyone here has the means to build a Sneak and Show deck. As for the suggestions, giant growth is a little more definate, not such a risk. Where as apect of hydra has the chance to be devistating, if you want to take the gamble. I don't feel that Polukranos has a place here. Idk why everyone likes that damn dragon, then again I haven't understood most of the over priced cards since RtR hit. Yes, most of them are good, but not $20-$40 good.

stormbreath is so vaunted because of his toughness makes him immune to most damage spells and he is pro white so most removal is limited to black. that makes him really hard to kill. plus his effect is kinda nice too

As I said, I get it, he's good. I just think he costs too much for what he does.

I mean true spike players think of it this way: No downsides. They're playing red and green stompy and those cards are just value up and down the board. One is undercosted and sometimes can eat the opponent's creatures, the other is a hasty 4/4 flyer that's really hard to deal with on the best of days and punishes Revelations. They deserve to be legendary, and please don't say Stormbreath costs too much. If he cost 4 he would be terrorizing the format. Like Tarmogoyf level ridiculous.

I meant money wise.

good cards always cost more. thats just how it goes. plus if any of the professional players use a card for something then it gets even more expensive.

I actually think that Polis Crusher is a good choice in a standard with this many D-Spheres and Enchantment Creatures, and I like the deck in general. Lots of good use for these BotG cards. But I don't like Mortal's Resolve, Legion Loyalist, or Satyr Wayfinder in this deck. Instead you could go for Mizzium Mortars, Magma Jet, and/or Experiment One. Those might add some more low cmc power to the deck.

i totally agree with mortars and magma jet, but experiment one only works for so long here. he is great, but only in early game

Why not just Ash Zealot or Reckoner?

Since this deck has more forest than mountain, sometimes having 2 or 3 red mana early game can be a problem. After 3-4 turns, having "Ash Zealot" has no meaning since it can easily be overpowered or removed. For "Boros Reckoner" it is a good choice but i'm content with this form. I'll side it to find which card to replace.

okay I see that drakeraenes, I was just trying to come up with some good 1 drops. And dharr16 you can't hit Ash Zealot off of Burning Tree Emissary, but it's still a thought. Reckoner is more difficult because this is a multicolor deck and you're asking for three red. He's very difficult to cast.

Yeah I get that, but a buddy of mine ran a "similar" build when innistrad was still legal. Though he splashed in white, he still rarely ever had a problem pulling 3 reds to play reckoner. Though, there is probably better out there, those were just my 1st thoughts.

reckoner is best in things with predominantly red, white, or both. this deck is too far on the green side for reckoner to be a viable option until late game. i run 3 in my mogis deck which is mainly red with a splash of black and ive been mountain screwed even then. reckoner is great, but i dont think he fits in here

Could just use Mistcutter Hydra?

as for good one drops, hero of leina tower could be a better option here. i say this loosely because there arent many spells you could use to trigger her heroic, but if you have an aspect and some spare mana, she can get big quick. only a suggestion

With the amount of pump you have would it be an idea to squeeze in a couple of Flesh//Blood could provide lethal damage without even having to swing :)

Alpha Autority and Nayla. You have more than enough devotion.

I agree with a previous commentor on Polis Crusher, he can be very useful against all the enchantments.
Though you might consider replacing his mainboard place with Polukranos.

Great Deck. I think a lot of people are overlooking Kalonian Hydra. With Xenagos on the battlefield Kalonian can swing for 12/12 trample as soon as you play it. Check out my deck. http://www.mtgvault.com/struckanerve/decks/xenagos-kalonian-destroy/
