It was fun seeing your friends deck. Thnx for the opportunity to help. Hope I did. PS: if you looked at my quick win deck I'd very much appreciate it.

The other stuff: Gideon is a good card, but I don't like him. Your friend can decide whether or not to keep him. I'd put in another Timely Reinforcements, but remember: its only good at certain times and may slow you down. You might wanna find another card to do a better job.
Enchantments: Too many Oblivion Rings, take some out, or put them in the sideboard. Spirit Mantle and Honor the Pure are great in this deck. More if possible. I also like Divine Favor.
Creatures: I can't help much here, but I'll give you some ideas. Gideon's Lawkeeper is nice to have, but I'd drop a couple of them. 2 more Elite Vanguards. Thraben Sentry is fun to have, as well as Mausoleum Guard. I personally would take out Benalish Veteran. I would also put the Elite Inquisitor in your sideboard because its only a 2/2 against any other deck, so I would leave room for more generic cards. Take out or move to the sideboard 1 or 2 of the Fiend Hunters becuase I wouldn't leave that many in the deck, because you use those on more powerful cards and you won't want them all slowing you down. Also put in the sideboard a few Slayer of the Wickeds. Unruly Mob might be a good idea for this deck as well. That's all I have on that.
Okay, first I just want to point out that i'm going to comment in increments. My friend got the same deck and has made it work for him so I'll help out as best I can. Artifacts: I would suggest Sharpened Pitchfork. Silver-Inlaid Dagger is good, but first strike is always useful, as well as that humans get +1/+1 from it, making it even better. Butcher's Cleaver is expensive, but gives humans lifelink so I'd put 2 in the sideboard for later, or your friend might find they work well in the deck all the time. One more: Blazing Torch is good vs. any black deck(on average) because vampires and zombies can't block the equipped creature, so I'd have 3 in the sideboard.
I think its a good deck idea although not very realistic. It looks fun to play in casual games with friends.
I really like this deck, got me thinking about my Quick Win deck I've been working on. Take a look if you get the chance I always enjoy new comments. Thnx

I would add a couple of crimson mages for the"1 red mana: Target creature gains haste until end of turn" it has. I would also switch Goblin war paint with something else that adds haste because when you play a card without haste most of the time there isnt enough mana to pay for the enchantment too, making the haste useless. If youre using it for the +2/+2, put in furor of the bitten for 1 red. It adds +2/+2 as well, at the cost of requiring that the creature attacks each turn when able. Other than that, it looks good. Good luck with the deck, hope everything works out for you.
why so many lands?
whats the point of the flooded strands and scalding tarns when you could just put in more islands?
I would put in shocks instead of those volcanic hammers but thats just me. this is a really good deck anyway
