nice job!! thats a great combo that i've never thought of before. definitely try that out; just on the side i would balance the mana base more and add some treetop villages but otherwise looks great!

Seen it, c'mon do something more creative, half the people at my local have played that. And quite frankly it can be stopped "In response to you starting your "infinite" chain I unsummon the druid and He Who Hungers to make you discard either it or Rite." Or if your looking for a way for standard "In response to you starting your "infinite" chain I counter rite and flash in winged coatl and block when you attack."

Have you thought about using Mercy Killing? I run a similar deck but use it instead of flourishing defences.
Sacrifice the 1000000/1000000 quilspike that's about to be unmade and have a million elves attacking next turn.
Nothing like dropping that after you declare an attack and your opponent taps 3... for nothing.

its better to make a quillspike deck that isnt devoted directly to winning on turn 3 but rather using more than just devoted druid/quillspike combo. check my quillspike deck out and you will know what i meen. ive won plenty of games without even seeing a quillspike or a devoted druid. a great combo is to mercy kill something that has persist, that way the creature still survives, you get abunch of tokens thanks to mercy killings affect, and you get one from flourishing defenses.

secondly, add a whispersilk cloak to your deck. first try to pull off the attack and if they counter your cloak, they probably dont have enough to counter rite of consumption or mercykilling afterward.

A Nefashu would work well with a quillspike deck... a lil expensive but it would work

I'm sorry but does someone want to explain to me how this "infinite combo" works??

If your using the druid to tap and untap then it'll die after the second time. What am I not getting here?

turn 1 birds of paradise turn 2 devoted druid turn 3 quillspike, tap the devoted druid for a green mana then untap it by putting on the -1/-1 counter then use the green mana u made and use the quillspike effect tap 1 green or black: remove a -1/-1 counter from a creature u control to give the quillspike a +3/+3 until end of turn then tap the druid again and untap it by puttin on the counter use the green u produced for the quillspike it creates an infinite attack and toughness quillspike then eventually that same turn tap the birds for a black mana and tap the druid 1 more time for a green and play rite of consumption and sac the quillspike to deal infinite damage to ur opponent and gain infinite life

Do you need twilight mire? Is there anything to replace it? Im building this deck on a budget, and i am replacing the birds for lotus petals, and the malestrom pulses for dark rituals. The Twilight mires are 7 a pop, and im not willing to spend $30 on it

really like it ;) even put the main combo into my green / black / red lord of extinction deck xD. usually i win there by letting players discard and pushing the lord in that way or destroying everything with maelstrom pulse etc. now that i have your combo in it as soon as players realize what im doing they throw out all there creature removal etc. for my lil druids and i can play up to the lords without problems xD.

thx a lot <3 hehe

I made a variation on this deck using red/green 4 souls fire and 4 mage slayers. The mage slayers make a flameblast dragon effect when equiped to the quill spikes. The Souls fire is self evident.

I tried something similar but after 1-2 times the combo gets a little old. It's good synergy, however.

its not infinite you have to pick a number because you cant do it untill you sack the creature. if you dont sack the creature then you have a draw with an infinite loop.. but great deck

I used this combo before reborn and I had primal rage in it for the trample so that deathtouch do not mater much. and as for blue cards like unsummon shadowmoor has i card for that it's called guttural response. but love the deck

I think you might need a few tweeks with the deck. The combo is very easy to disrupt, so anything that can speed it up is essential in making it work. Right of Consumption makes a turn 3 kill since you don't need to attack. Mercy killing is a turn 3, or instant speed solution to removal, that makes infinate tokens. I have found the deck works best with 4 Spikes, 4 Druids and a lot of hand/creature disruption. Play it like suicide black and you will do much better. Right now the deck plays more of a midrange game, but you lack the disription or CA engine to really get much done.
