65 Decks, 121 Comments, 12 Reputation

i just ran it through a simulator against a deck released in the dark steel set. (best selling deck) it lost 96% of the time and the times it won its final life total was below 10 87% of the time. this was over 100 game runs.

It works as a basic starter deck, it isnt the best but it can easily wipe out an opponent. good luck.

now this is a deck i like. i love to see control decks. but that being said, a counter-mill (my favorite combo) could still beat this with ease

jace costs too much to be practical. this is a true mill deck, fast and easy to get your mind around. kudos.

one last comment: look at the total cost of these cards, its well over 150 us dollars. unpractical for a deck that wont work in the field

all most all your creatures cost 4 or more to play, and you can only play them if you get the right mana combination to play them. the plainswalker can do some good but how will you protect it? you pretty much have to rely on getting an awakening zone out in the 3rd turn. without it your defenseless, with it, your on defense until you have enough creatures out to fight back. the win condition cards wont help you if you cant get the creatures that both cards require to make you win out. and even if you did, do you honestly expect your opponent to sit by and watch you build up? no. im sorry, this wasnt well thought up. i have a counter-mill that will keep your creature off the field while dumping your deck into the grave.

this is really easy to beat, a good burn deck or a counter-mill deck could wipe the floor with you. sorry but this wouldn't do very good in any battle except maybe a 3 on 3 where your allies can defend you from attacks, and you better hope their decks are better at defense and playing cards early then yours is.

Let me know guys and gals, this one is a exact copy of a deck i used in a local turny, it came in second place to a counter-mill deck.

this would work very well against a creature deck, but again, i think your looking at creature opponents. what if the player was using a burn deck, or a fellow black deck. and once again, the blue counter deck will make quick work of this. you need to find a card that will protect your creatures from spells and stop your enemies from countering your spells. try a gustcloak or circle pro spells.

NEMESIS of Reason. its worth adding the 2 black mana and 4 Terramorphic Expanse because it makes then discard even if it didnt do damage. plus its defense means its harder to kill and can live to do it again.

try adding a furnace of wrath in combo with urza's rage. that would lower the need for all the small burn cards. also the goblin shrine would allow you to get rid of some creatures and make this deck a 60 card burn deck.

with a little modding and a few more cards this could work out to be a EDH deck.
