In some languages the root of bask is meaning "to hit" basketball might have started out with people just basking the ball against the floor, then someone asked "why basket ball ? Shouldn't there be baskets?"

Theres a Danish song about this trollish guy named basken.
Actually there are several. Basken 2018 basken 2019 and probably two more cause I still hear them played.

Most of the song parts are Danish, but there's english and german included in some scenes which hint at the contents of the song.

Lines like "a meth whore is standing in the corner, she says what's happening here?" Are part of the lines original said in Danish.
