The deck relies on Necroskitter as the main win condition, and in case you need a plan B you have big boy Toxrill to back you up. Grey Merchants seem to work very well as alternative win cons too, since the deck only has black permanents. It also helps to stabilize bumby early games.Lots of -1/-1 counters. There's skinrender for crazy value, corrosive mentor, fume spitter, black sun's zenyth (which combos insanely well with nest scarabs); I'm also running murderous rider and fatal push for additional removal. Counterspells to deal with potential board wipes or anything that endangers ourselves, or our board.I'm running tainted indulgence (or chart a course) for a turn 2 play + draw, and temple of deceit for a bit of extra scryingt (and budget). As for enchantments, i actually found Nest of Scarabs to be more consistent then Crumbling Ashes and Blowfly Infestation after a bit of testing, and they really help you against creature heavy decks generating some blockers on the early game, or huge amounts of tokens depending on the situation.I recently also created a side board for it.Duress, negate and go blank against control.Go blank against reanimators and combo decks.Infinite obliteration also comes in against combo decks.Languish to deal with aggroGray Merchant + Dragon's claw against burn. (Gray Merchant can also win you the game if you got to flood your board with tokens)This is the deck i use and love, i hope you all enjoy it as well! c:Everlasting Torment: I found it to be a dead card in many, many match ups. Never really saw it shine, so i subbed it for corrosive mentor

Are you going for semi-competitive, semi-budget modern here?

Yes! And recently I updated the deck a bit
Silumgar, the Drifting Death is budget friendly and fits you -1/-1 theme.
Oh yeah, that's a cool one. If i can't get my hands on a Toxrill, i'll give it a go
Nice deck... I run a wither deck too and it's pretty fun.I used for some time the Midnight Banshee as the "big boy" but in the end I've realized that I won't need it if my opponents can't keep their creatures.
I think the big boys are just there as alternate win cons
