Deck Description

I really like the concept of this deck, discarding creatures to lotleth troll and exiling it to scavenging ooze and deathrite shaman. I am seriously going to build this irl, and see how well it actually does in standard. it might not do so well this summer, as it's only using R2R block and m14, but I can give it a go

Deck discussion for Ooze Awesomeness!

Pretty nice deck ! : D
But I don't know how you want we a game. Maybe write "how to play"?

Check my Golgari deck:

I did write a big how to play, but I edited the deck after and it got deleted :/

its kind of a work in progress now, but the idea is to play Deathrite Shaman turn one, then ooze or lotleth turn two.
lotleth gets creatures into your graveyard, scavenging ooze exiles them, gains you life, makes all your dudes bigger.
use grisly salvage + doom blade to get more spells + creatures into the grave, exile them to ooze and deathrite for lots of beatdown. also put in dark favor to slap on lotleth for ridiculous hits.

What do you think about Dreg Mangler instead of Slaughterhorn? Also Golgari Charm could be nice depending on your opponent.

Dreg Mangler might be a better option, but I really like the versatility of being able to bloodrush it onto a lotleth troll, then exile it, etc, if im stuck on mana, whereas I could only discard the mangler. it's still a better topdeck facing control, so I would probably sideboard them. maybe main sometimes.

OK, then what do you think of Rot Farm Skeleton?

Great! totally forgot about him

only problem I have with him is he trades down, but he also trades with 5 and 6 drops... but then he dredges! so yay

Also. all things considered I think another Doom Blade would be better than a Dark Favor. You know, just to be safe.

i've been thinking about this deck ever since i saw it two days ago, and goddamn. This deck is just really cool. Hey have you considered adding in like two copies of deadbridge chant? you could use the ooze to exile everything you don't want to come back to you. Also i would agree that i like dreg mangler. I'm not sure about dark favor, (besides using life as a currency) it just seems a little out of place. also mutilates and desecration demons come close to fitting in. but seriously nice deck

Thanks, I like the deck a Lot myself. The only reason I haven't added in deadbridge chant is it seems to expensive for this deck. I can rarely get up to 6 mana in a normal game, unless im seriously flooded. dark favor is used to either pump lotleth for really quick kills, or sometimes to put on a boar or slitherhead to get more damage through if they have a few blockers. also the health isn't really a factor, because of ooze and shaman life gain. and yeah I should put a mangler or two in.

so you're saying it functions mostly as an aggro deck? if so then i get the dark favor but really don't understand why you wouldn't want to replace the boars with mangler. is the life that important to you?

well, its not that important, but I find in almost all matchups (except for super slow control) it does help a lot. I might replace them later.

Nice concept, I was thinking of building something similar to this, what I came up with (With the card's I've gathered thus far) would have a "corpsejack menace" (or 2) for the double counter's added to creatures, along with "varolz, the scar striped" adding scavenge to everything in the graveyard, and another means to sack (Regeneration of "Varolz"). Nice deck composition though.

I find that for my deck, im already exiling everything with oozes and shamans, so varolz is useless. corpsejack is a great card, and would be terrific for later game, but a bunch of the time I don't want to be playing big stuff, I want to be getting more damage through by pumping ooze + lotleth. if I drew him I would discard him.

i like golgari, and this deck looks cool. maybe you could replace the dark favor with deviant glee? its +2/+1 just cost 1 black mana and it wont take a life from you.

XD thanks? I'm currently running another that also features him in standard. It's a bit like this one, except more midrange and graveyard-based, and less ooze exiling.
