This is my elf deck I have made mainly to play in some tournaments with, but I am still not sure if it's constructed right. So, comments how to improve this one are very appreciated.

well an clear decision would be too have less creatures and more noncreature spells. other than that i just really like Joraga Warcaller, especially with oran reif the vastwood

Hi, I am not sure which creatures I should remove at the moment, because the all of them have some importance for me. I'll also look for some non-creature spells, but nothing, which would suit into my deck, comes into my mind at the moment. I really appreciate your help, but a little bit of concreteness can help even more, I started to play MTG a few months ago, so I am still a noob. Thanks again.
I think like the DotP game's "Ears of the elves" deck this would work very nicely in many circumstances, BUT as soon as a wily black (insta-kill) or blue (lose your cards) player comes along you will probably find this deck falls apart rapidly. Not sure what to suggest to fix that without it losing it's brute strength potency
I wouldn't use Ears of the Elves myself, it's way too unbalanced in my opinion. But I really appreciate your help, thanks.
A deck like this isn't rare among starting players. Creature-based, no real plan, but a play still exists, usually little or no non-creature spells. Especially with an elf-deck. There are cards you can cut, even if they are good. Try cutting Doubling Season, as it's mana cost will just slow your deck down sideboard Jagged-Scar Archers UNLESS you put Overwhelming Stampede in your deck(which i highly recommend with Jagged-Scar) Rhys the Exiled, yeah he's good but you have wellwishers, so he's no necessary Elvish Champion is a great side-board, he's a decent main-board because the +1/+1 wouldn't always be necessary, and the forestwalk would be useless at times. I highly suggest Taunting Elf. GREAT finisher or creature-board wipe. As for some other non-creature spells, try Overwhelming Stampede, Overrun, Wirewood Pride, Elvish Promenade Elf Decks have many varieties and it's always fun to see a different one come out. Maybe you can look at mine to get some other ideas http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=68130 That one focuses all cards from the Onslaught block, the peek of elvish power(imo) If you want to check out my profile, I have different decklists for elves because they're always fun to mess with, but I hope you'll check em out and get some ideas from them
I have re-built this deck a few minutes ago. Your advices really helped me out, thanks. But I did not cut Doubling Season, because it's a really strong card in my opinion and I think now I need it even more than the last time, because I cut some creatures which give counters or add tokens. I'll take a look at some elf decks, I am still not sure if this one is well constructed, so if you'll have a time, tell me what you think now, please. Thanks again.
Hmm, instead of cutting doubling season, add Nissa Revane. Imagine her ultimate going off, and having your entire deck on the table. Also, you could keep it all creatures, but add in some stuff to keep the tempo going, like elvish visionary and/or sylvan ranger, they're bodies that help you go through the deck, keeps things smooth. I didn't play during the morningtide/eventide sets, so to me elves just add mana, but i love to see a creature-based deck, and this looks pretty solid. I'm currently running a 31-creature elf deck in standard but it's COMPLETELY different. Check it out and comment if you have the time. --- http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=86390 --- Overall, it looks solid, but seems like you would empty your hand really early, which could be bad in some matchups. And as iliketehturtles said, Taunting Elf. And since you're giving elves +1/+1 counters, he would be able to kill stuff while running interference for the rest of your elves. I actually give a +1 to all his suggestions, but I think seeing Doubling Season with Nissa Revane would be awesome, as you never really see her ultimate ability trigger.
I added Nissa Revane and I did not cut Doubling Season, because it looks like a really nice combo, as you said, and because I cut some creatures which give tokens and counters, I think that Doubling Season is even more important for me at the moment. I took a look at your deck. It's very nice, but I think I couldn't play with it. I tried to make my deck a rush one, because this type of deck is much easier for me (as a beginner) to play with. Unfortunately, I did not find any place for the Taunting Elf. If you'll take a look at this deck once again, please tell me what you think after this update. I really appreciate your suggestions. They really helped me out, thanks.
It looks like a solid deck. However, I would imagine that you have plenty of card drawing with 4 Harmonize. The Elvish Visionaries really aren't necessary and would probably be better replaced with other elves. I prefer Joraga Treespeakers over Llanowar Elves because it can really speed your game up. Plummet is a sideboard card. I would switch that with the Wirewood Prides. Doubling Season is great, I would not cut that. I have had really good luck with the Immaculate Magistrate combined with Lys Alana Huntmaster, you might want to consider adding that. Also, when you're creating tons of elf tokens Drove of Elves is a really good addition. I have found that while Nissa's Chosen is a good card, it's really only necessary to add one or two to your deck because you can use it as a chump blocker and pull it back out every turn with Nissa Revane. My green/black elf deck consistently wins group games, but needs some work before it's a good dueler. Check it out if you want some ideas. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=84690
Hey, you really helped me out, thanks. I switched Llanowar Elves for Joraga Treespeakers, they really seem to speed the game up a bit more, because if I have Doubling Season on the battlefield, it can level up even faster. I also added 2 Lys Alana Huntmasters and 2 Drove of Elves, these cards look really awesome and this is the first time I have heard about them, thanks for showing them to me. I also removed the Elvish Visionaries and I added 2 taunting elves and I changed 2 Plummets for 2 Wirewood Prides. So, thanks again, and if you'll browse through my deck sometime, please tell me what do you think about it now.
Hi Tru, I have added my own version of legacy elf deck below. I prefer Garruk over Nissan because of his overrun ability and also Garruk can survive longer due to higher loyalty counters. As for card drawings, I took out Harmonize due to higher mana curve and replaced with Gilt-Leaf because there will be a number of elf druids in my deck so I am able to draw good amount of cards. Eladamri will be good because of the shroud he can provide to all elves and lastly is Elvish Harbinger to be your elf tutor. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=87252
Hi, thanks for your help. I mainly tried to focus my deck on Warriors, which should be able to rush my opponents really fast. I chose Nissa because of her abilities, which can be really useful for me. I think the Harmonize's higher mana cost is not the problem, because of my elfs, which are giving me the mana. Eladamri is a really nice addiction, but if my opponent will control elves, it can also help him a lot, so I'll probably stay with Rofellos, who gives me a lot of mana. I am sorry for the late reply, I was not able to get to the internet. Tru
strictly speaking gilt-leaf cavaliers > talaras battalion, vines of vastwood > wirewood pride, slate of ancestry > harmonize, replace bramblewood paragon with joraga warcaller, use gravity well for your anti flying deck card for the sideboard, and finally only one elvish vanguard makes me cry, thats about all i have for you
if you would like a little more inspiration you can check out my deck, i dont actually own these cards it was for a deck challenge, and i spent plenty of time making it. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=83257
Hey, when I have saw your deck for the first time, the first thing that came to my mind was that I'll drop mine and use yours, but then I changed my mind again and I have edited my deck a bit. I changed Joraga Treespeakers for Llanowar Elves, because the treespeakers take a few longer time to produce mana. I also listened to your advices and I removed Bramblewood Paragons and Lys Alana Huntmasters and I added 4 Joraga Warcallers. I also removed Talara's Battalions and I added one more Drove of Elves and three more Elvish Vanguards. Another change was removing the three forests and adding the three Oran Rief- The Vastwoods and the last change was switching the Voice of the Woods for Gravity Wells. If someone has some other advices for me, they are much apperiated. Thanks, Tru
Hey, I am new at magic. I only got started with tenth edition because of my friend. If you are worried about defense try blanchwood armor. I hope that will help with defense.
Have you thought about Eldrazi Monument with Nissa and Nissa's Chosen will give you Flying, +1/+1, and indestructable while you just keep pulling the Chosen out to sacrifice. Because when they leave the battlefield they go to the bottom of the library. Defiant Elf will give you a creature with trample, Elvish Soultiller will allow you to keep your elves comming back from the grave over and over, Wellwisher gives you a huge amount of life when you have a large amount of elves out, and Wirewood Guardian will give you a huge 6/6 Elf.
