Deck Description

I got me a burn deck long time ago. It wasn't quite the burner so I decided to refresh it.

I got me at a prerelease a blue/red burn deck and thought I should stick to that combination.

So here it is. The main focus is on the instants and sorceries in combination with 'Guttersnipe' and ' Satyr Firedancer'. If I get in trouble due the fact of an almost empty hand I can simply copy instant spells and play them again. Useful in many situation.

To remove the opponents board I decided to go for more delays like 'Vapor Snag' or 'Voyages End'. It's not always the case I got my Satyr out.

How to Play

there is no real tactic in the playstyle. Just play the cards you have in reaction and prevention of your enemies steps.

Till now one downside is your empty hand you'll face in turn 5+

If you'd really like the deck to shine, you should run about 4 Guttersnipes and completely drop the Charlatan. The Lands also seem to be a bit outta wack here. Less Mountains and more Islands. They should be about the same, for the deck how it is right now.
What you need in an Izzet deck is compete control over what gets to enter/stay on the field and what doesn't. Plenty of counters and burn spells or counterspells that burn opponents would be useful. Counterflux is one of my favorite counterspells, but Essence Backlash should probably be sideboarded as well. You have a substantial amount of burn, but I'd drop the Lightning Strikes and add in some counters or bounce spells. Cyclonic Rifts or Disperses would be good. Goblin Electromancer would also be a healthy choice as well. About 4 of them. Maybe also look into Mercurial Chemister, his ability to stop slightly mid-game creatures and draw you two cards a turn is huge.
I'd also drop the Shrine of Burning Rage. It's not that good to be perfectly honest. It's also keeping you from being completely standard legal for about another month.

thx for the input.

This deck was never intended for standard legality. It's meant for casual play with friends. So there will probably be no sideboard as well.

I quite like the charlatans abillity to copy instants but the 'guttersnipe' is better.

what should be replaced for Counterflux and Electormancer, though? I don't want to remove Lightning Strikes and the Shrine (at least not all of them) but the multicolored spell are a + to the deck.
What happens if I exchange Crypsis with Counterflux and Electromancer with the Lava Axes and 1 Shrine?

Personally, I like the deck how it is now. My very last suggestion would be to drop down to around 18 lands. Your mana curve is very low so you shouldn't need that much mana to drop everything you need. Your highest drop is a 5 and that'll go down with the Electromancers. You could put the Charlatans and the Voyage's End back in if you drop about 2-4 lands. They could help out with the control aspect of this deck.
The deck looks really good now though.
