Thats true about the Stormbound Geist's, I'm not saying they are a bad card by any means. I just feel they are an aggressive flier when basically all you need for the win condition here are the trepanation blades on your invisible stalkers or any other creature that can't be blocked (which is why I suggested a few artful dodge). Basically with artful dodge, it really doesnt matter who you put the blade on, its just going to end up in milling the opponents deck and dropping a heavy attack on them.
Yeah the Hero's will cover the battlecry for you, so I would swap the paladin's out for some Increasing Devotion. Requiem Angel is another creature to look at. When something of yours dies, it will turn into a 1/1 white spirit with flying, regardless if its a token creature or not. Just another thing to make the opponent consider when you go on the offense.
Could run into some issues if you face some fliers in this deck, but it looks aggressive enough that you could hopefully just power through and get the win before you are in danger of losing to them.
Crushing Vines are a good sideboard addition, but the Wolfbitten's in your main deck will give you a better %age to lay a creature on the board on turn 1 along with your Reckless Waif's.
Yeah matygh7, I'm not saying Huntmaster won't work, hes still awesome regardless, all I was stating was that he can't keep flip flopping and wrecking havac to his full potential. I would say maybe swap out the Garruk's as well, he runs kind of slow in this kind of tempo-based aggression. The faster you can get some wolves on the table and transformed, the better. Dropping a Garruk on the table on turn 4 when you can drop a Mondronen Shaman or an Instigator Gang would be my preference, even moreso if you have an Immerwolf or a Mayor out by then. The extra token is nice from your Body & Mind but I think the Feast & Famine sword would work better in this deck for the mana rampage and keep the board presence high, especially because of the trample on the wolves, 9 times out of 10 you will probably come through for some damage and then get to fully untap and drop creatures after combat.
If you can maybe sideboard in a few Ratchet Bombs or something to sweep tokens for a clear attack path.
Nice looking deck, I'm still tinkering with mine a bit to get the tempo more under control so I've been experiementing with some of the new werewolves. 4 Mayor's and 4 Immer's help a tremendous amount and I think I'm going to revert back to 4 Reckless Waif and cut off some of the 3 and 4 CMC guys just to speed things up a notch or 3. If you get the chance, check mine out, open to any and all criticism. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=296112
I would suggest losing the Koth and the 4 Volt charges and going with one more Incinerate and 4 Flings. Attack with the Phoenix, get in for 2, fling it for another 2 then follow it up post-combat with your Brimstone Volley for 5 damage and get the Phoenix back in your hand for next turn.
Dismember is fun and all but with everything else you got going, you can get a morbid Tragic Slip or 3 going for the low low price of 1 mana and a nice -13/-13 on something. Food for thought. Looks like a deck that would be fun as hell to play with but a pain in the ass if your sitting on the other side lol.
Drop 2 Fume Spitter for 2 Tormented Soul and drop 1 Obliterator for another Lashwrithe. Slap them on your Tormented Souls and its free beats.
Huntmaster doesn't work very well with Immerwolf because you WANT him to keep transforming and forcing your opponents to be in a bad position each time he might. Kessig Cagebreakers aren't a very good fit here either because werewolves are very stompy and the sooner you smash face, the better. Graveyard needs to be filled a bit for the breakers to do their job to the fullest extent. Instigator Gang is a perfect fit into this deck as they can buff your attack while sitting back on defense until you go full throttle swing. Naturalize is more of a sideboard card imho, as they could be dead cards in your hand all game. I don't mean to sound too critical, I just like my werewolves and have explored quite a few options lol. +1 for you! Heres my werewolf deck: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=296112 Its constantly under construction, any decks I post on here I have access to all cards listed, not what I am trying to achieve, so they are constantly evolving into better decks.
I agree completely, lab man only comes out when the darksteel plate is ready to rock and I can pull the win out the same turn. Otherwise all efforts are focused on mass milling them out.
Hunger of the Howlpack can get you 3 +1/+1 counters with its morbid which will further add to the stomp. Not sure where you can really squeeze these in because the hexproof from Ranger's Guile is a very handy addition.
Need some Increasing Devotion in that bad boy.
Taste of Blood is still standard too, one black for 1 damage to player and you gain 1 life.
Stensia Bloodhall nooooooooo lol So expensive to do 2 damage when you can just rip a Shock off in their face for one red and get your bloodthirst triggered.
Huntmaster is awesome and gets plenty of buffs from the Mayor's and Immerwolves, but won't get to be used to his full potential if he hits the table and transforms when you have an Immerwolf out. That being said, I have yet to get my hands on a Huntmaster lol. Im still constantly upgrading my wolf deck right now, and so far its working quite nicely. I opted to go with a few less creatures and a tad bit more support and longevity. I did have Pyreheart Wolves in my deck but cut all wolves out except the Immer's. And I only have 2 each of the Kessig Wolf Run/Rootbound Crag/Copperline Gorge cards. I'm loving the new werewolf tribal though, the damage output is just fast and furious. Check my deck out and let me know what you think. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=296112
Looks pretty effective I just have a few suggestions. - 2 Niblis of the Urn - 2 Stormbound Geist (they can only block fliers) - 1 Honor of the Pure - 1 Dragskol Captain + 2 Niblis of the Breath (one blue, tap, then you can tap OR untap any creature) + 2 Invisible Stalker (wrecks face with trepanation blades) + 2 Artful Dodge (one blue to make a creature unblockable, flashbackable for one blue)
I would suggest taking out the Bloodgift Demons and try to focus on getting the Obliterators out. Toss in a few of those new sorcery, Deadly Allure, which will give your Obliterator deathtouch and he HAS to be blocked if able, which is perfect! After that creature dies a horrible horrible death, you can blow up another creature with a morbid -13/-13 tragic slip. Sure you can't really flashback the deadly allure because you need green (unless you ran an Altar of the Lost, but that will take away from what you have going), but I think you would still wreck face pretty bad off of that combo alone. So: - 1 Sword of Body and Mind - 1 Sword of Feast and Famine - 2 Bloodgift Demon - 2 Dismember - 2 Go for the Throat - 1 Swamp + 4 Tragic Slip + 2 Deadly Allure + 2 Tribute to Hunger + 1 Increasing Ambition / Diabolic Tutor (increasing ambition is flashback for a total of 3 cards) And maybe you can sideboard 2 Ghost Quarter or Maw of the Mire to drop his non-basics.
