Deck Description

I was sitting on the couch when my wife told me to get her a box mac-n-cheese. When i looked in the pantry under over inside outside every shelf for 20 mins. I was reminded of Maralen of the Mornsong and Shadow of Doubt. Then i realized the possiblitys. Then i got yelled at for not coming back with the mac-n-cheese for an hour.
Would love to hear some input on modifications or sideboard
thank you everyone who helped get this deck on the front page her her to my friends

Deck discussion for Thou Shalt Not Search

Great Lockdown with the Maralen - Shadow Of Doubt thing....i love it.
Reminds me of: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=280461 <-- Mea Mentis (aka Honey Badger) that makes people Rage Quit WAY more than it actually wins. It uses Scepter and Arcane Laboratory for Lockdown.
And: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=287950 <--- Master Lock. Using Erayo, Soratami Ascendant, Gigadrowse to flip it, and Arcane Laboratory to totally shut everyone down. Permanently.

It would be interesting to see yours against mine...Mine locks things up a bit better i think, but you have more options than i do by far. Great Job :)

I like this one!!! Really Nice concept TribalH3adHunt3r! And I find win-condition really cool. Good job on your lockdown/prison deck. Keep it up!~

Btw, Memory Lapse on stick is sick as hell. Imagine your opponent almost drawing the same card most of the time?

I hope you could give me some short advices on your free time with my decks here:

This seems like a fun lock-down kind of deck. Funny story in the description but what is your win condition? You might want to try a Platinum Angel that you can tutor for so you don't lose to your own Maralen.

I doubt you own a Time Walk my friend, may i suggest Temporal Mastery? If you do have it, props to you. Also, have you thought about Mind Funeral? Lastly, I would take out 1-2 swamps and replace them with islands, on account of the 44-25 mana symbol occurence. There are some great combos in there, cryptic/dichoto, isochron/glimpse. With a good hand this deck could beat almost anything. Amazing job headhunter

I didn't took a good read when I first saw the description but now I just realized how even more brilliant the deck was. I was thinking, did you survive some sort of a horrendous or terrible accident that made you put those Platinum Angels there?

Anyways, Thanks and a good deck will always be better with a good player, just like yourself and what you had there.

My problem is the Opposite. I lived in Seattle for a few years, and played againts some seriously badass tournament players....and i had to get good enough to keep them from destroying me constantly. So i did.
Now im back where i lived for the first 25 years of my life....Arkansas. There is nobody here that even stands a ghost of a chance against me, even counting the people who taught me how to play in the first place. Since its a massacre every time we sit to play....I've actually taken to building my decks very very carefully, avoiding the big scary stuff and making just Solid decks. This one that you made here....I'd never buy it in a million years, even if it were 10 bucks. Its WAY too good to play here, Id just lose more players if i used it :)

@Aigloblam I almost have the same story as you. In my place, the players are not as witty when it comes to MTG, so I got to build some of their decks, help them do twitches, and when I'm in a match against them, there are times when I won't drop the key card I have in hand just to let them enjoy more and kinda' uplift their spirits if they pulled of the theme of their decks. Even if I lose, I always end up talking on how awesome they pulled out the trick for quite a long time. Really don't know but that made me happy in a way.

What im TRYING to do is build up the player base here....I've introduced maybe 15 people to the game, and i keep pushing them to think for themselves.....its slow work, but at least its going somewhere. Maybe in the future they can come here and let their minds be blown....They are still at the stage where they think Trample is the coolest ability ever, and i have to keep reminding them that Regenerate does NOT pull a creature back from the graveyard. *sigh* i've got a lot of work ahead.

It could be worse. I had to ret-each someone how to play, (selftaught) and he thought that essence scatter countered creature abilities. His thinking was that it was a spell that a creature would use. Didn't know what summon sickness is,and I could go on forever. He didn't like black because it was too aggressive.

Add these cards to search for your win conditions:

Shred Memory - Transmute converted mana cost 2
Muddle the Mixture - Transmute converted mana cost 2
Dimir Machinations - Transmute converted mana cost 3
Perplex - Transmute converted mana cost 3
Fabricate

BTW, how can you complain about cost when Platinum Angel cost one more than Platinum Emperion

0
Posted 24 August 2012 at 16:10

um... platinum angel costs 1 less than platinum emperion... o.0
it is only 7 mana. Also, personally I don't care for either card. it is a great defense while it is out, but way too easy to get rid of. naturalize, solemn offering etc...
I prefer things that are harder to get rid of.

Then you are stuck with the same dilemma. Nothing in magic is impervious...certainly not Platinum Angel, Doom Blade, Pongify, Murder...etc....

0

I know that. I wasn't saying that any single card give the perfect defense. There are card combos that work really well, which is what I prefer.

eh a typical lock down kinda deck. well done might i add and wow expensive. dont really know anything that can be a good SB option right now though..
