Infinite Saprolings

Main Deck (60 cards)

Sideboard (12 cards)

Enchantments (6)

Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.

Deck Description

21760 is the number of Saprolings that can be generated from a "single" spore token with "8" doubling seasons in play.

This is a condensed version of my Epic Struggle deck based entirely on generating an infinite number of saprolings in a single turn.

The ultimate goal is to get as many Doubling Seasons and Copy Enchantments down as possible as they should build off of each other eventually making stuff 256 times everything at maximum. The Copy enchantment spell is possible to play by sacrificing Saprolings with Utopia Mycon to generate mana of any color.

There is a turning point where you can use Utopia Mycon, Fungal Bloom, and at least 2 Doubling Seasons to generate an infinate number of Saprolings in a single turn. The cycle goes: 1)Sacrifice 2 saprolings for Mana with Utopia Mycon. 2)Use Fungal bloom to put 1 * 4 (at least) counters on Utopia Mycon. 3)Remove 3 counters from Utopia Mycon to create 1 * 4 (at least) Saprolings. The end result is you sacrificed 2 Saprolings to generate at least 4.

tldr: With 2 Saprolings, 2 Doubling Seasons, 1 Utopia Mycon, and 1 Fungal Bloom you can generate an infinite number of Saprolings.

You forgot Paradox Haze. No reason that the insanity has to stop with eight doubling seasons. You also can take four upkeeps each turn as well.

Went ahead and replaced the privileged positions with Paradox Hazes. That actually should help speed things up. I shouldn't be super concerned with my enchantments being removed. I have enough repeats and the hazes will help speed things up. More Saprolings means more draws and mana which means things move faster.

Mycoloth would be a good addition. So would Coat of Arms. Verdant Embrace would be nice.

Lol that would be funny!
The only thing about any suggestions for additions to this deck is that once you have an infinite number of Saprolings you've won regardless of what you do with them. An all out assault with the Saprolings works just as well as stacking them into a Mycoloth. The difference is that adding any other cards just slows this deck down.

thats true but this deck could be really good, you just have to make it at least 60 cards so additions might be what you need, well to make it legal at least

How often is the minimum deck size 60? The official minimum is 40 I thought, though some tournaments use 60. If I add cards there are plenty of good Thallids that I could add. Maybe I'll do the Mycoloth as well.

Made it a 60 card deck. How does that look?

obviously it run better with 40 cards because you get the cards you need so when playing causal i'd use it that way but it still looks amazing with 60 cards, good job

so you need the utopia mycon to play your blue spells?

Yup, that's the way it works.

I added a sideboard for various situations. 1 thing that happened too many times is I would pull off the infinite combo but not be able to win until the next turn. I would then lose before my next turn. The sideboard has some stuff so that I can win on the same turn. I don't quite know what I'll do with Life and Limb yet but I'm trying to work it into the strategy. We'll see what happens.

It probably isn't needed, but you could try to work in parallel evolution. It might be able to speed things up in the beginning.

If you've got 4x Doubling Seasons, it should be no problem for you to also pick up a set of Yavimaya Coasts and Breeding Pools. You really should have some other source of {U} mana besides just Utopia Mycon. Even if {U} only accounts for 8/48 mana symbols in the deck, you should at the very least run a set of Yavima Coast. Creature's are far too ephemeral, especially against an opponent who knows how much Utopia Mycons contribute to a deck.

Otherwise, sweet deck. Don't know why I never thought of running Paradox Haze with my Thallid deck.

Also, for more consistency on the utopia mycons, try green sun's zenith. 1G for "put a central piece of my combo into play"- heck yeah.

Birds of paradise would slow you down a bit, but can also be the blue mana boost you need... But you need some sort of dual land in there... because not being able to cast those blue spells when you need to can hurt.

As awesome as it is to have to use a calculator to keep count of how many creatures you have, a single 'fog' card could screw up your attack. I also built a deck to deal with decks like this (Attack me, I dare you http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=143232 ).

Don't get me wrong, this deck is good and I like it :p

IF you want this to go even faster, add 4 windswept heaths, and 4 misty rainforests :D You have essentially reduced your deck from 60 to 52!

That's insane! All I would add is a bunch of fetch lands to speed things up. Mind taking a look at my token deck? http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=114848

Why don't you Misty Rainforest and Breeding Pool just so getting those enchantments out isn't so dependent on Utopia Mycon?

I just hope that when you attack with your 21760 1/1 saprolings that your opponent doesn't cast spore cloud!! HAHA!! J/K, nice deck. Truly original idea.
