Deck Description

Duskmantle Seers combined with low casting spells to slowly kill the enemy.

How to Play

Bring out early fliers with fog bank, beckon apparition, and vampire nighthawks buff them up with favorable winds. Then bring out Duskmantle Seers. Use Dimir Charm to look at your opponent's library and put high costing cards on top so they take damage when the Seer triggers. If they block or attack with a large creature use Azrorius Charm to put that high mana cost creature back on top of their library so that they get hit hard when the Seer procs at the next upkeep.

Mitigate your life loss with lifelink using the nighthawks and azorius charms when necessary.

Deck discussion for Seered to Death

This is really nice. I am going to export this to build it. Awesome.

Glad you like it! I always wondered how I could build something with the Seer since he was the first Gatecrash mythic I got. This seemed like a nice way to honor that.

Maybe put in something to protect Duskmantle Seer?

The unsummons are there to bounce them back if things get hot, but you are right that adding negates or mizzium skin might not be a bad idea.

I don't think this deck could control most agro decks because your not drawing enough cards and do not play with mass affect spells. The Seers' ability will not trigger until turn five because you have no mana acceleration. By that time, Boros and Gruul have pushed you to use all of your hand (all of your spells are single target) and have most likely put you into a position where you don't want to cast a second duskmantle because of the possiblity it will kill you. More alarming is that Duskmantle is a welcomed sight to most agro decks because they run cheaper cards and many are using lifegain maindeck. Alternatively, the metagame against BUG, RUG, and BANT isn't looking too good because all those decks run counter spells, bounce, and mass wipe. Long story short, you should think about using mass removal cards and or card drawing. I would drop the winds also (because your deck isn't agro). Goodluck, I love the concept and believe this deck could be viable in a standard agro environment if you make a few changes.

Thanks for the feedback. I can see your point very well about dealing with aggro decks. I'm not sure there is a good way to accelerate this deck so I am going to assume my best bet is to go for board wipes. There are a few options for board removal spells. What would you suggest?

switched in the Favorable winds for Supreme Verdict so as to have a board wipe in place to deal with Aggro decks.

Wow I didn't think of using the Dimir Charm to burn even more, nice!
I made a Seer deck some time ago but seeing this use of the Charm I quickly added it to the deck. Maybe you want to check it out http://www.mtgvault.com/cruncher/decks/seer-control/
Since your deck runs white, how about (sideboarding) Sphinx's Revelation? You can never have enough cards with all those low cmcs!

Yeah, I had thought about it. It's kind of a choice between Sphinx's Revelation and Supreme Verdict (unless I take out killing glare and leave the verdicts in). I guess I should definitely sideboard them at the very least. I'll check out your version for sure.
