Got way too used to commander, so I like the single variety decks, as you can see. Past that, I tend to run a little lower on mana to increase playability on some other cards, once again easy to see looking at my other decks. It can be risky, but a good round offers a pretty sizable advantage. This deck could go a bit lower on average mana cost, but when playing I very rarely have problems playing my hand(albeit slowly, sometimes). The biggest trick to this deck is getting an early advantage and not letting your opponent onto the battlefield. Of course, I don't get to play many new people, so I'm sure there are problems I'm not seeing.

You say that, but the deck works pretty wells most of the time. A lack of mana can happen no matter how many mana you put in the deck. And yes, we tend to play single decks for the variety.
