My own spin on birthing pod utilizing mimic vat to do something with all those dead creatures. Primary "playing in a vacuum" flow of turns. 1) Land + llanowar or Bird 2) land + pod (take 2 life to get it out this turn) 3) land + any 3 drop, ideally a blade splicer, Pod it to a stonehorn dignitary. Now they cant attack me next turn and i have a 3/3 golem 4) Pod the stonehorn to an acidic slime, blow up the most threatening thing or a land. 5) pod the drop from turn 1 to a phantasmal image, copy that to a slime 6) pod the image to a sun titan, use the sun titans Enters the Battlefield to bring out the image you sacced as a copy of the slime 7) pod the slime image to a wumcoil, attack with sun titan to bring out image as a copy of wurmcoil (or as a slime if they are real low on land already). 8) pod the image of a wurmcoil to an elesh norn. 9+) sac an image to the pod, fail to find anything (this is ok) attack with sun titan to bring it back as a copy of wurmcoil or slime. Normally wurmcoil is the ideal card for the mimic vat, but certain situations (eldrazi ramp mostly) make the image the ideal card to put there. Remember that the mimic's token can be sacced to pod. This is a great way to get a TON of wurmcoil tokens out. the combo only requires cards in hand up until turn 3, anything after that requires only the cards already in play. Every time a slime or a copy of one hits the battlefield you are, at the very least, removing a land from play. Obviously removal will slow this down, but eventually you can get something podded up to take care of this. Also every turn you are drawing cards that are not part of this combo, so you can usually sneak in extra creatures as needed. Still working on side board, mostly concerned about fast agro decks because Goblins and Tempered steel have a good presence at my local FNM.

Well, if you play goblins you could always through in Day of Judgement's into the sideboard. They can be kinda late game but you never know when they help.

yeah honestly as fast as some of these decks are, i think the only way i can live if I'm on the draw is a turn 1 birds of paradise, turn 2 timely reinforcements, turn 3 day of judgement.
