This is my best shot, at crafting a deck similar to Suicide Black back in the day, but at the same time is more Meta relevant.
The Disruption
Duress - Auto 4 of, eliminates mana disruption (where u want BBB on turn 3 for the Lich), planeswalkers, counter spells, board clearers (even though this doesnt bother you), and many combo spells.
Inquisition of Kozilek - 3 of, 8 total hand peeker's seemed too heavy. Can kill important lower creatures though, like Knight of the Reliquary, Lotus Cobra, and Ball Lightning.
Contaminated Ground - Indeed, the closest thing we'll get to good ol Sinkhole. Can deal good damage as well as mess up their mana colors and man lands.
Sadistic Sacrament (sideboard) - great card, but a bit heavy for just 3 cards. Works wonders against combo decks (Brilliant Ultimatum and Polymorph)
Vampire Hexmage (sideboard) - 2/1 first striker that you can sacrifice to kill any target planeswalker or anything with counters, like Everflowing Chalice
The Beaters
Abyssal Persecutor - Obviously your win card here, with just 1 draw back. His cant win effect. Thankfully, this deck is packing some removal package to get rid of him after he's done the job.
Nantuko Shade - great early game, great late game, great pump card. He can smash down Wall of Omens on turn 3, or smash threw a Baneslayer Angel turn 6. Play him right, and he can be just as important as Percy.
Phylactery Lich - a 5/5 beater on turn 3? A standard functional reprint of Phyrexian Negator, just with a different hurt clause? Sounds fine to me. Sure, he can get 2 for 1'd easier than Phyrexian, but if the opponent isnt packing any artifact hate, you've got an indestructible 5/5 beater.
Vampire Lacerator - again, this one is a functional reprint of Carnophage, just without the tap choice (but bonus if weakened). Quick 2/2 on turn 1, can do some early damage. Either get some points through, trade off with Goblin Guide, or make them chump with Mana dorks.
Death's Shadow (sideboard) - a towering monstrosity if you're near death. Can be really fierce against a RDW player, gets you down to 6 life, have a 7/7 that can take down a Ball Lightning.
The Removal
Brittle Effigy - part removal, part artifact bait for your Phylactery Lich. Can be a late game winner, exiling your own Percy or their Baneslayer.
Consuming Vapors - rebounds, so can hit 2 targets and net you life with it. If you're also desperate on killing your Percy, you can select yourself for a target, then sac him to it, net 6 life to boot.
Deathmark (sideboard) - kills target green/white creature. Standard card here.
Card Advantage
Prophetic Prism - 2 of in this deck, simply for the fact it negates Spreading Seas, and draws you a card for it, AND is artifact bait for your Phylactery Lich.
Dark Tutelage - It's Bob all over again, enchantment form!. He wasnt around for Suicide Black's time, but he can be a real house in a low mana costing deck. Draw 2 cards each turn, take damage for the first one's CMC. Sadly, you have no way of destroying enchantments in black, which is why he's a 3 card. Also why we have this next card.
Key Card
Basilisk Collar - yes, Basilisk Collar!! This card is just TOO Good in this deck of heavy beaters. Put a Phylactery counter on it, then next turn equip it to your lich and have a 5/5 indestructible, death touch, and lifelink creature. Black's Baneslayer Angel. Or, you can even equip it to your Abyssal Persecutor, so every turn he nets you 6 life while either killing their flying chump blockers, or making a 12 life point chunk out of them. And heck, if he dies, then good. He hurts you in the long run, but if they let him wreck too much havoc, they're done for.
I would love some constructed criticism on my final draft of this deck. Not just "Oh, card A sucks, replace it with card B." I mean actual reasoning/proof/suggestions. Best of luck to rebirthing Suicide Black.
