This is the final version I have of my "budget" (I capped myself at $400) Esper deck which has been a work in progress for about two months now. After Dragon's Maze I saw the usages of AEtherling and Renounce the Guilds as well as Jace, Architect of Losers. It, the deck, can still use help, but I will be play testing it this Friday, so any spot checks are welcome. Win conditions are AEtherling, Drownyard, and Obzebat.
Like an Esper deck. It's like I took a set list and copied it, looking it over, but switched proportions. You get rid of big things with counters and get to one of your 3 big things, protect it, and win. Murder anything you miss with a counter, and Take//Away anything indestructible. I put a lot of emphasis on my removal, so that I could get rid of my threats. Even heavier emphasis was placed on my countering, with three different counter-spells that counter anything I need them to. So, yeah, counter, kill, and win. The lack of Snapcaster was really due more to the fact that I didn't care for them, I have enough draw and would rather not just double my amount of Supreme Verdicts. Three is plenty.

Have you thought about Cyclonic Rift. It works pretty darn well in my experience.

The overload is rather expensive, and Supreme Verdict is a more deadly version of it in my opinion. Aetherize would be my choice over it, removing Aggro presence at a two less cvc. The Take in Take//Away does the non-overloaded Cyclonic rift to the letter, which kind of removes it as an option. It's a good idea, but I prefer Take.
