This deck is soooo cool. It's pretty much a competitive version of what I played when I was a 12 year old getting into magic. So, when I saw it do well at pro tour Valencia, I decided to build my own. Here it is, in all of its discard glory.
Make them discard relevant threats and then pump up the aggro so they can't win. The win conditions are the Rack and Shrieking Affliction. Warning, chalice of the void for one pretty much prevents you from winning unless you can stall them the whole game and they draw one or two more cards than you. I have no solutions. There is no mono-black two drop 'destroy target artifact'. Man up.

I need help with the sideboard. What do you guys think?

Hey there,Ratchet Bomb. Here you have youre nuke for annoying thingys like Chalice of the void or Leyline of Sanctity. I'd suggest limiting your Dark Withering or Doomblade for that. Did you take a look at Sadistic Sacrament? I'm not quiet sure if its not slightly better then Bitter Ordeal as it removes 3 cards from the game without any condition.Greetingsqqfish : -)
Huh, I never thought of Ratchet as an answer for Leyline, I actually really like that idea. The current build is a bit more involved with its sideboard, I forgot to update it here, but I'm sure at my next tourney I'll make some observations as to how to implement them, I like it. Thanks!
*like*I would use 2-3 "Read the Bones" instead of 4 "Drown in Sorrow". You should have enough discard so that your opponents creatures will be no problem. But without carddraw, you will land pretty fast in topdeck-modus. Carddraw works a little against "Ensnaring Bridge" (which I would play only 3 times, as one should be enough on the battlefield) but if you don't have answers to threads your opponent might draw, then it will be a loss. A card you could take a look at would be "Extirpate" / "Surgical Extraction", if not maindeck then at least sideboard. With that low mana-costs you could also try to lower the number of lands by 1-2 (Works against "Raven's Crime", I know)"Pithing Needle", "Persecute", "Dark Withering" (Should work like a charm with Liliana), "Scepter of Fugue" and "Bitter Ordeal" could be sideboardoptions. Maybe "Evil Presence", if you're up against multi-colored decks which relly heavy on duallands. GreetingsMuktol
Good sideboard options! Implemented a few. As for the main board, I'll drop a land in favor of something else, but I like the 4x Ensnaring, it gets top decked abrupt decay to the face way to often. And I hate having cards in hand post 4th turn, but I like the idea of read the bones. I'll play test it, but drown in sorrow just kills dark confidant, so I'll stick with it.
