Main Deck (60 cards)

Sideboard (10 cards)

Sorceries (4)

Instants (4)

Planeswalkers (2)

Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.

Deck Description

This is a well-rounded deck that breaks up your opponent's combos while forcing them to sacrifice their creatures and discard cards so they cannot attack, play spells, or pretty much do anything. You will also be sacrificing creatures and discarding cards but you have graveyard play, so you won't care.

Meanwhile, your creatures don't mind hitting the graveyard cause they'll rise from the dead to fight again! Read on!

How to Play

Thoughtseize and Inquisition of Kozilek allow you analyze their hand and discard their cards to break up their combos (Duress is in the sideboard in case those cards are too expensive).

For removal, there is Dismember and Gatekeeper's kicker cost. The big hitter is Smallpox, which affects you as well, but you won't care because you have graveyard play - Bloodghast, Gravecrawler, and Geralf's Messenger have no problems hitting the graveyard heheheh.

Late game, Thoughtseize and Inquisition are pretty much useless, so use Pack Rat to toss them. And by now, your graveyard should have lots of cards in it, so Tombstalker should be easy to cast. And of course, Phyrexian Obliterator. 'Nuff said.

Note: 2 extra Liliana of the Veil is in the sideboard because she costs so much, but hey, if you got money, go for it! =)

Deck discussion for I am Death,Destroyer of Worlds

Hey all, I am trying to make this a modern-legal, tournament-ready deck. Whatcha guys think? Any suggestions or comments are most welcome! Even if it's to plug your own decks, or comment how I couldn't fit Robert Oppenheimer's full quote in the deck title. =)

Anger of the Gods will be your biggest downfall, which is huge in modern right now. Pretty much any deck in modern that has the ability to cast it will have at least 3 if not 4 copies. If not that most will have graveyard hate like Graffdiggers Cage, Rest in Peace, and Tormod's Crypt. Hopefully your able to snatch them up with your Thoughtsieze's, Kozi's and Duress's. Just something to keep in mind.
That being said Nice deck.

Very good points, my friend. Thanks for the pointers. I'll see if there's other things to help protect my stuff while still keeping them in check. ;-)

Cards that could work in this deck (no way suggesting putting them in):
Altar's Reap...almost, with this deck, like drawing 2 cards with no bad side effects.
Bone Splinters...destroy their creature with no bad side effect. 1 mana creature destruction is very tasty!

The Lashwrithe and Obliterator...don't think I didn't see what you did there!!! :)
Same thing with Gravecrawler and Geralf's Messenger!!! Are you trying to make your opponent mad? lol

Another solid deck.
I like looking at your decks.
You need to post more!

Hey thanks a lot! Major ego boost heheheh! I'll sideboard in your suggestions and see how they play out. I'll also check back here later tonight. I'm going to proxy and test your 2-mana challenge deck at the comic book store today (i'll also probably pick up some non-2-mana creatures/spells to see how they fit into the deck...I know, I know. It'll no longer be a 2-drop deck, but I like the deck itself so I'll test it out)

Hello again. Thanks to everyone who liked and commented on this deck.
I played in a few channel fireball modern tournaments with the deck and I had to make some changes. Notably, put 2 lilianas in the main deck (sorry! I know she's damn expensive but she works out SO well after I made the changes).

Some minor changes, but besides Liliana, the only other major change was replacing the removal spells (victim of night and geth's verdict) with Gatekeeper of Malakirs since he'll serve 2 purposes with the kicker cost (like Jessie said: try to get your cards to do 2 things instead of one) >=)

The changes have been doing well. I'll try it out in a few more channel fireball modern tournaments and let you know how it turns out, but whatcha guys think for now?

Maybe something like Blood Artist that makes good use of all the death in here?

I want thank everyone who liked this deck, gave comments on it, and offered advice. I've been playing this at my local comic book store and also at Channel Fireball Modern Tournaments. It's been doing really well. Usually a 3-1 record. However, I've been secretly putting more money into tuning it into an Orzhov deck to make it more powerful. You can check it out here:
