I love synergy in decks. Counter their spells, bounce their creatures, draw extra cards. What's not to love?
As I said, there is a lot of synergy in this deck. So where to begin...Well, one of the better combos is Thragtusk. He enters and you gain 5 life. He leaves and you get a 3/3 beast. He can leave by dying or you have Vapor Snag or Familiar's Ruse (bonus = you counter their spell at the same time) to bounce him back. Same goes with Kitchen Finks, because it'll keep gaining you life and the -1/-1 counters leave once you bounce it back to your hand.Moving on to Eternal Witness. You can return Thragtusk (if it's dead) from the graveyard, or you can bring back one of the bounce spells (Vapor Snag, Familiar's Ruse). You can then use those cards again to bounce the Eternal Witness back to your hand, so you can play her again and repeat! You can slow your opponent down to a crawl with counterspells such as Mana Leak and Familiar's Ruse, not to mention the bounce spells! Bounce their creatures back if they start to threaten you. With all of these instants being played, you need card draw. Coiling Oracle gives you card draw, as well as Think Twice (and it has flashback! yay!). Serum Visions gives you card draw and helps set up/filter your deck with scry.AEther Vial lets you play creatures FOR FREE. Think about it. They attack with a creature. You use AEther Vial to send in Kitchen Finks for free (gain 2 life). It chump blocks, dies, and comes back from the graveyard with a -1/-1 counter (gain another 2 life). Then you use a bounce spell to send it back to your hand (-1/-1 counter goes away) and then AEther Vial it back in for free during your turn (gain 2 more life).Make use of your instant spells in your graveyard. Runechanter's Pike buffs up your creature with power and first strike!Green and Blue don't really have creature removal, so use Vedalken Shackles to steal their creatures. ;-)

So what do you guys think? Any extra advice for more synergy would be great! The sideboard has some expensive cards so you can make replacements if you want it more budget. Same with the lands. Cut them for basic lands and you save $50+.

Has my like. Deck seems very close...but something is a little off...know what I mean? Something doesn't quite feel right. Maybe it is the fact that while you do have the option of bouncing your Thragtusk...it seems like some games will come down to "do I bounce his stuff or do I bounce Thragtusk. Up the Thragtusk, because he seems like your Win Condition. Or at least your best creature. I sorta like the Rancor over the Pike...although Pike is probably better for the deck. Just seems like the Rancor and Thragtusk tokens would work nice together. Plus, when you bounce your creatures...Rancor, of course, will not go to the graveyard or have to be re-equiped. Like I said though, Pike is probably better because of the mass amount (24) of instant cards. My favorite green/blue card you say? Temporal Spring. It is lovely. 3 mana Boomerang...which is sorta lame...but it isn't double blue, which is nice. Another high mana card...but playable in your deck...is Progenitor Mimic. Mimic on Thragtusk is nasty. A free Thragtusk every turn is brutal!Good luck!Keep up the bounce decks. They are my favorite!
Thanks for your advice! heheh. Yes, something DOES seem off, as it seems thragtusk (or the other weak creatures) are my only win-con. I plan to proxy this deck and see how it does. Yeah, I was debating whether or not to put rancor in the mainboard. Even if I have to discard it from my hand, I can always just get it back with the witness. You're right, Progenitor Mimic could be deadly! Maybe I can run 1 of them.
mtgvault is a great place for budget decks, so I hated to up the cost of the deck with AEther Vials, Finks, and Shackles, but I think they would improve the deck a great deal more.
I really like this deck! There's some serious synergy between those cards! Especially like the Thragtusk - Familiar's Ruse -combo!I first read the deck name as: "Control your bouncing beasts."When I read it again, I was pretty much shocked...
Thanks Northy. I guess my mind was in the gutter when I thought of this being a control and bounce deck. ^_^"
+1! Nice, but why the 2 extra serum visions in the sideboard?
Thanks for liking! Yeah, the sideboard isn't really set up yet. I was initially thinking that if I need more card draw, I can put in more serum visions. But as long as I have Eternal Witness, I can Aether Vial it into play, grab a serum visions from the graveyard, and then play it a second time. =)
Why is this not a Hot Deck?Ugh.
Haha. It's cool man. Maybe cause it's not budget haha. To be honest, the most popular metas I see at channel fireball modern tournaments are UR Delver, pod, splinter twin, zoo, scapeshift, artifact affinity, etc. I'm trying to home-brew a well-rounded deck to defeat as many of the common metas as possible. Thanks for the encouragement though! ;-)
You are welcome. I was more confused than anything. Your deck got the 5 likes needed to make it to the Hot Page...but it wasn't added there. It is odd. I noticed, the last month, there are only like 30 hot decks where there use to be 50 hot decks. Not sure if no one is on mtgvault anymore...or if they have changed it to where it is harder for a deck to become hot.
I still see lots of decks being pumped out. A lot more commander decks - I wonder if it's because of the new commander planeswalker releases. In any case, I figure they just made it harder to get on the hot deck list. It's not a problem though heheheh.
