I did have tome scour to start with, but for 1 mana extra, I took Breaking instead. Why mill 5, when you can mill 8 and have an oppotunity to steal cards too. :)Originally, this deck had 4x Essense Scatter, 4x Negate, 4x Doom Blade and 2x Dissolve. Had the Hero's in my Sidedeck, so that if I came across either a black deck or planeswalkers, I could remove them. The idea being cheap and removal/counter. But then I think this is better, since it just counters most things rather than specific.

Fair enough. I think I had misread the card. That is much better than I thought before if you get 2 cards from it.I take my comment back then. ^_^
"I'm wondering if I should run 4 Charm & 2 Downfall mainboard... ...waddajah' think?"I think that you should keep the 3 of each to start with, then play with the sideboard charms/downfalls if you think that you need them. Having the downfalls will help against decks that contain mainly creatures and not many kill spells. But then you could switch if you found that you needed to bounce your enchanted creatures to save them + the enchantment more.Like the idea of Heroic, but I think that they lack something, and will be better as the next sets come out.Nice and cheap, great aggro deck. Nicely thought out.
Will have a check of those now. I've seen plenty of your decks PoetMaster, and quite a lot of them are awesome.Yeah, the Aqueous form is not a great idea in the Sideboard... but I do like the idea of a unblockable X/X for all cards in your opponents graveyard.Mind Grind I have been considering for a while now. It's basically Mirko Vosk, Mind Drinker as a spell. With the ramp as you say with the dimir keyrunes or chromatic lanterns, it would be awesome. But the only thing which I would say is that this deck has quite a bit of control in it, so that your opponent would hopefully run out of cards to play when you start to mill. Once you've played a Traumatize and have Jace mill away, you've practically got them down to around 22-12 cards in their deck. Does it need more mill? Especially with Breaking? (Unless Traumatize gets countered. D'oh!)It is true that U/B decks are probably weaker after rotation, so it is worth investigating a B/U/G or W/U/B deck. And I have thought that this deck does lack draw. Wasn't sure about Read dem bones, it is a powerful card. Thoughtseize is great to counter cards that your oppenent might have to counter you, but best played at the start. My only issue with them is the cost (IRL money I mean), they cost a damn lot! LOL :)Thanks for your time Poet, hope you reply back again.
Deathrite is great, especially since your opponent is loosing 2 life each turn with the milling. But it would be better in a pure mill deck, having a combo like Sanguine Bonds, Crypt Incursion, Viskopa Guildmage (if you go W/U/B) and Deathrite Shamans would kill off your opponent in no time. Not not sure with this kind of deck... since it is meant to be control, mill and kill.Meh, you probably are right, but will consider the Deathrite Shaman. Thanks for your comment. ^_^
Thanks for your comment. :DI use the blood crypts because those lands would have been taken up by swamps instead. So it only made sense to include the blood crypts (even though they come in tapped or shocked) to enable the use of Entering. The keyrune idea is great, that you get a 2/2 unblockable if you choose, but have the mana boost too. But there is a lot of artifact removal about, so it could just get smashed after your opponents sidedecking.Still a good idea. Will have a think about how to implement it.
With the amount of potential devotion here, maybe Purphoros (God) wouldn't hurt having one copy in there? Great aggro deck, got all the building blocks for a good deck. Ash Zealots, Boros Reckoners, B-T Ems, Fanatic of Mogis, etc are all great cards. Might be worth switching 1 or 2 Rakdos Cacklers for 1 or 2 Goblin Legionnaires, since they are fantastic if you have plenty of creatures out. Maybe even sideboarding him?Check my deck out and leave a comment. Hope I've helped. http://www.mtgvault.com/tkt97054/decks/dimir-mill-or-kill-standard/
Hi, what seem to be the aim of this deck? Mill and have a lot of creatures that help with that? Not a huge fan of Soul Ransom. Yes it does steal a creature, yes it does have to make them sacrific 2 cards and the creature... but then they gain 2 cards and you've lost the stolen creature. I would say Soul Ransom being better for a Dimir/Rakdos discard aggro deck would be better suited.Check my deck out for some better ideas for improvements. Even though mine is less aggro, and more control.http://www.mtgvault.com/tkt97054/decks/dimir-mill-or-kill-standard/
Hero's Downfall is a must in a mono black deck. It would be rude not to for 1 extra mana to kill of a creature or planeswalker. And lets be honest... most players will have at least 1 planeswalker in their deck.If not, then at least Pharika's Cure, since it goes with the deck.I'd be greatful for any comments on my deck if anyone here gets a chance. Need some suggestions on improvements. Ta very muchly.http://www.mtgvault.com/tkt97054/decks/dimir-mill-or-kill-standard/
Even though it doesn't really go with the flow of the deck, I would suggest you swap the Blightcasters for Lifebane Zombies, Disciple of Phenax or Gray Merchant of Asphodel. This is because Blightcaster requires you to CAST the enchantment for it to do -2/-2. Since gift of immortality is not cast from the graveyard (it just gets reattached), then you won't get the unlimited benefit, while the ones that I suggested are triggers for creatures entering the battlefield.
Have a look at this deck for some ideas of improvement. The deck is NOT mine, but still worth looking at. Has a similar purpose.http://www.mtgvault.com/kidwithfire91/decks/boros-token-lifegain/But I would definatly think that you're missing a god card (Purphoros or Heliod) with this deck to get some good potential.
That deck made me LOL. You are indeed correct, it is eldrazi. But I don't think that 4 mutavaults would provide enough protection. Still, I would love to see your opponents face when they saw that deck in a match.
Still nice suggestion though. Shame it's not my deck your commenting on though. XDYou're welcome to check it out above tho. ;)
Probably works for the better. Gideon even though he is a soldier and fits nicely like that, only works depending on the amount of creatures your opponent controls. So Ajani will help buff up your squishies. ^_^
"As Door of Destinies enters the battlefield, choose a creature type.Whenever you cast a spell of the chosen type, put a charge counter on Door of Destinies.Creatures you control of the chosen type get +1/+1 for each charge counter on Door of Destinies."You are completely correct. But when you've cast Akroan Crusader, Akroan Hoplite, Phalanx Leader, Precinct Captain or Soldier of the Pantheon, you will get the counter on the door. That will apply to all soldiers.
Gratz! Actually, I think that Abhorrent Overlord (I think that is the one your referring to) is a great idea (even though he is still a 7 cmc) since you can sacrific creatures on the upkeep of your turn, which would help trigger the enchanted creature.
No problem. But you might be right, especially with the Gift of Immortality. But if you are basing most of your game on that card, surely 4 of it would be best? And good luck with the play testing. Let me know if it goes well either way. :)Check my deck if you want: http://www.mtgvault.com/tkt97054/decks/shadowborn-v2/Probably a load of rubbish, but any suggestions to help polish this up would be great.
I agree that Ashen Rider's effects are destructive... but are you going to get to your Turn 8 (assuming you get a land each turn) to summon Ashen Rider to remove only 2 permanents? As I say, wish I was more helpful... but I do know that Ashen Rider would be alright if you get that far in to late game.
Not to sounds unhelpful, but Ashen Rider is waaaaay too fat (high cmc). Probably run something like Blood Baron of Vizkopa or Archangel of Thune instead.Sorry I can't be of much more help. ^_^'
Even though I know this mainly a human/token/Purphoros smacks you upside in da head kind of deck, but wouldn't something like Archangel of Thune or Firemane Avenger help here? Maybe a Door of Destinies? I also agree with nocleverusername with the Ajani.
