Originally an online template, and I also had an Izzet standard to use for the template, I just made a few changes, and I hope this will be a better version of the standard, instead of being slower like before.
Use your instants and sorceries to fuel your onslaught of your opponent, with guttersnipe, and young pyromancer, then swing in for the win with your chimeras, and elemental tokens. (Elemental tokens, may or may not be on your field, depending on what you do with them , aka- use them as blockers while you buff up your chimera(s), etc.)

Some better counter spells to consider:-Essence Scatter / Negate - one mainboard and one sideboard depending on your groups's meta. My group's creature heavy, so I'd have Essence Scatter main and Negate side.-Counterflux - a very good pure counter.-Dissolve - is another good pure counter. For sideboard I'd suggest:-Annul - Theros has introduces a LOT of enchantments-Gainsay - One of the best counters to opponents playing blue too. Also, Izzet Charm is a very good choice for its versatility.

Yeah, I was thinking of using negates or essence scatters, etc, but i dont usually sideboard, idk why, but i never really got into sideboarding much. But I'm really just going to see what happens, so I can fine tune it so its perfect.
Im probably going to have to switch out some instants or sorceries so i can swap in the essence scatters, so then i can get rid of my friend's master of waves, and Thassa, but also, i was thinking of maybe using 4, or just a couple wild guess's to increase my drawing power, and ability to keep buffing my chimera, but it would also take away from getting to use those cards that i might discard. hmmmmmmm.......
I was also thinking of using some mizzium skins, just for a quick 1 drop, that i can protect my creatures with.... but im still looking around, and waiting to see what else will be in Born of the Gods, so luckily i pre-ordered a fat pack, cuz i cant wait to crack some packs!
I'd run 3 - 4 Essence Scatter (with Negate in sideboard).Izzet Charm's draw option works nicely with the Chimera too.Depending on your meta, Mizzium Skins mite only be worth it as a sideboard card. Not sure if you know of this already, but here's something that mite interest you:http://www.wizards.com/magic/tcg/article.aspx?x=mtg/tcg/bornofthegods/cig
Type your deck name...Yeah, so maybe switch out the spell ruptures for izzet charms, or essence scatters? I was also thinking that maybe an aetherling or 2 would be fun in the deck, but idk, ive seen another deck like this that has stormbreath dragons in it, etc, but is still centered around the same and main function of the deck
It is your deck, but if I where to do this I'd probably run both the Charm and Essence Scatter.AEtherlings are cool, except for the fact that the more creatures you add, the less spells you have for the other creatures in here to interact with. I once (years ago) ran a RU spell based deck where my only creatures where 4x Wee Dragonaught and 2x The Unspeakable (I ran all the arcane cards that combo'ed to fetch Unspeakable). Although my deck was originally designed to do damage equal to the number of arcane spells in my graveyard, Wee won me most of my games because it just got that big off of my spells I played. What I'm saying is don't forget your main game play.
Yeah, I'm keeping the main game strategy, but I was just looking around for some other cards that might make it a bit better, etc, and I was told that the deck should/could have more drawing type cards, so I'll run the charms, but I was also thinking of maybe divination, wild guess, or glimpse the future
I say stick with only the charms for now to see how that goes, then if you feel you need more, test a few of another draw. I see this deck at the trial and error phase.

Well, I put in the charms, etc, and finally finished off the deck, so I have it all finished! Do once I actually am able to get time to change the list, besides now, I will with the few updated cards
The deck is now finished, and I updated the deck on here also
Looks good. Too bad there's no RU land in Theros (yet).
cyclonic rifts may be good in this..
idk dude..... sure it'll get rid of the other creatures.....but idk.....
I was thinking that maybe the raptor from gatecrash, the 1 drop for 1 blue mana, (I am not recalling the name right now), I think it was Cloudfin Raptor(?) I am forgetting, but would that maybe be a better choice since it would get bigger whenever I put out a 1/1 elemental token with young pyromancer, and it has flying, so it would/could be more beneficial, in a way.... since my opponent might not have any flying, etc, there was another creature I had in mind to maybe replace the guttersnipes, with, but I am not sure yet. (the raptors would replace the guttersnipes) Maybe? I would also accept any ideas for any sideboard cards, if any, I will post some ideas, like wild guess, essence backlash, etc, any ideas are welcome!
Honestly, I wouldn't run Cloudfin Raptors in here. Each creature you add is one less spell to affect the creatures you already have and I believe your creature base for this type of deck is good enough.
yeah, and the raptors would'nt actually get that big..... because it would really only get 1 +1/+1 counter, and then become a 1/2, so then it's evolve wouldnt work because the toughness of the raptor would be higher than the elemental's 1/1 power, and toughness, which wouldnt trigger the evolve........
I have almost the same deck which I've been playin on MTGO with good success, it plays good against Mono-Blue and ok against Mono-Black and U/W-control, check it out http://www.mtgvault.com/kvasir77/decks/devotion-to-keranos/
ok, i'll check it out, ty!
Does anyone think that I should swap out shock for searing blood?
Searing Blood's double red has me concerned, especially since you're island heavy on your lands. Also Shock allows you to kill the opponent's turn one plays. So I'm against the idea for this deck.
Got 2nd at TCG player appreciation day this past weekend at my local store with this deck!(Without the sideboard though)
Got 4th, at my local FNM this past Friday with this deck! (Still without the sideboard)
Anyone think i could maybe sideboard in pithing needles in for the ral zareks and bidents or something else for a game or 2? or maybe when i might have to?
i added the aetherlings into the sideboard so i could maybe turn this deck into something a bit better, maybe i could switch them out with the bidents or ral's if need be, or..... i could run 4 in the place of both the 2 bidents, and 2 ral zarek's.... hmmmmm..... also, would maybe mutavaults be better in the deck besides the guildgates? or i could swap them in for the young pyromancers? like 4 of them?????????????
anyone think some temples of epiphany might be better than the guildgates? or maybe some more basic lands from taking out the gates? Also, i have been wondering if there is another card i could use besides epic experiment in the deck....... but it must be standard
yes it would, but half the deck rotates out this summer unleess your going to use it for casual or modern
actually its til around october in the fall, but I gotta go to the WOTC website to check for specific dates
