This is part of a 5-color tribal pauper battle chest. I've been using it to get newer players into MTG, which is why I didn't include too many convoluted combos and over powered cards. At the time of building, all 5 decks will cost you under $100 (non-foil; possibly a little over if foiled). This is the black Zombie tribal deck.Links for the other decks:Gobbling Goblins: https://www.mtgvault.com/thurge/decks/gobbling-goblins-pauper/Elusive Elves: https://www.mtgvault.com/thurge/decks/elusive-elves-pauper/Misty Merfolk: https://www.mtgvault.com/thurge/decks/misty-merfolk-pauper/Harmonized Humans: https://www.mtgvault.com/thurge/decks/harmonized-humans-pauper/
This deck focuses on non-combat life loss. While still producing tokens, this deck focuses less on pumping your tribe and more on getting them on the board and/or getting them in the graveyard. It introduces new players to cycling, graveyard hate, straightforward removal, creature recursion, devotion, and -1/-1 counters.Notable examples:Witch's Cottage and Mortuary Mire put a creature from your graveyard on top of your libraryGhoul Carrier brings zombie cards back to your handCycling Gempalm Polluter with a board full of zombies drains the life of opponents quicklyShrivel works as a boardwipe if need be.
