According to The Gatherer, Broken Dam is pauper legal...
Snap is in there to untap lands in order to set the opponent up for another tap/ping.
Yeah, this is sweet. I didn't think of the artifact land line of play. Clever.
Sanctuary would probably be a no-brainier. Gives you a second chance to do the damage in case of a counter.
Chasm Skulker seems like a good fit. May be a little awkward at 3 CMC.
It is low. Lol. I build decks for kitchen table fun, so I'm not too concerned about it being consistent. It'll likely be going against some random janky deck in the playgroup.
Recently playtested just on MOL. Out of the ten or so games I played, the infinite combo stuck like half the time. But postSB is a different question. I like your idea of abusing Panharmonicon with this. I get what you mean about it being clunky. It's at an awkward CMC. Maybe Simian Spirit Guides for that extra push to get it down on T2?
Ended up doing my own iteration: https://www.mtgvault.com/thurge/decks/wubrg-solicitation-modern/ Thanks for the inspiration!
The deck originally did have Setessan Training. I however opted for Shadowspear. Its a more permanent trample effect in case my big thing gets blown up. Plus it adds lifelink and techs against hexproof and indestructible. I'll update the notes.
Good call. I think I added Ornithopter early on as a blocker. But you're right. In a deck like this, it isn't absolutely necessary.
Would it be worth trying Dowsing Dagger slotted into this? Just for the two tokens it gives your opponent.
Gray Merchant of Asphodel could work as a finisher as well.
Just a suggestion. Add the combo(s) to your description/how to play. I see you've got a lot of tagged infinite combo decks. Just makes it easier to see what the deck is about instead of looking for the combo like I did.
I don't see the infinite combo. Am I just missing it?
Thanks for the props! The Pioneer stipulation limits the card pool a lot. This version of the deck is much more synergized (plus the access to Faithless Looting) and will run much smoother. Glad I could spark some creativity!
Would be nice though. Lol.
Clever deck! Maybe some sort of protection? Like Heroic Intervention? At least in the sideboard. This deck would feel hella bad when it comes to wraths. But dope idea for sure. I like the idea of Glimpse of Nature.
If you're focused on Calvacade, I'd cut the Anax and Bone Crusher. Probably sub em for Gingerbrute and some sort of red removal. Also feel like there's too many lands. You can probably go down to 15-16 Mountains and still be fine.
Yes. All your defenders and Tetsuko herself will be unblockable. I used her when Arcades was still in standard. Stole a lot of games.
