Deck discussion for Turn 1 Win

I like the idea of lich's tomb with bond of agony. It is a devastating combo. However I think you are misunderstanding bond of agony. The X life that you pay is the same X damage you deal to all opponents, but both of these X amounts rely on having X+1 mana. At most on turn 1 (with a realistic hand), your dealing 6 damage to all opponents. Your hand would have to be as follows:

1x swamp
1x ashnod's alter
3x zero casting cost creatures
1x dark ritual or mana vault
1x bond of agony

Turn 1: Draw lotus petal. Play lotus petal, your swamp and the 3 creatures. Tap the swamp for dark ritual or mana vault, and use the 3 mana for ashnod's alter. Sacrifice the 3 creatures to the alter, sacrifice lotus petal for a black mana and play bond of agony for 6. Obviously you could end up doing more damage if you end up with 4 dark rituals (and or mana vault), but that isn't really realistic in a starting hand. If you have 2 dark rituals (or a mana vault) instead of lotus petal, you could do 7 damage, but even that's probably hard to get.

You can't use bond of agony on turn 1 for 20 damage (even with lich's tomb in play) because you don't have the ability to generate 21 mana on turn 1. I can't think of any other turn 1 win scenario with this deck. Please let me know if I'm mistaken but I honestly don't think this works. Sorry.

it does work I see what your getting at but the X is for how much life you pay I studied the combo my friend thought the same thing I built this deck in RL and when I bought the Bond of agony I asked the owner of my card shop if I was correct on how it worked and he assured me it was

The reason that the cards says "as an additional cost" is because it is above and beyond the mana you pay. There is no other cost to pay other than the mana. This combo does not work on turn 1. It may work mid game, but not on the first turn. Whoever told you that information is incorrect.

These are straight from the source. The last link if you go to the bottom of the page you will see a judge's ruling on the card that clearly states that the X is both mana and life.
