The owner of this deck hasn't added a sideboard, they probably should...

This deck has gone through many changes in its time (original was Black/Red, then Black/Green/Red, now this) but sacrificing was always the main mechanic. The deck is centered around Savra, Queen of the Golgari which is one of my favorite cards ever. Throw in some Sac engines like Miren the Moaning Well, Bone Splinters, and Golgari Guildmage which brings back your dead (presumably sacrificed) minions. Darkheart Sliver and Shambling Shell are not only beefy fighters but also self-sacrifice and fit right in. Deathgreeter keeps the life flowing with the constant death that will haunt the battlefield. The other part of the deck revolves around Creakwood Liege, which buffs every creature in the deck. Rendclaw Trow is not only a powerful fighter that makes an opponent think twice about attacking or defending, but also can be used as sacrifice not once but twice! It, along with Odious Trow, can be played regardless of whether you have Forests or Swamps, and Odious Trow himself is a cheap, potent blocker that becomes especially dangerous with Liege. Liege's tokens are also useful throwaway sacrifices especially for Bone Splinters or Guildmage's ability. Birds of Paradise helps keep the mana engine running and Maelstrom Pulse is a brutal sorcery that can make quick work of many, many threats. In all, this deck is about serious creature control along with the ability to quickly swing for big damage. It also works very well in multiplayer and is my favorite deck to play among all the ones I own.

I believe that if you sacrifice a creature you cannot regenerate it because the regenerate ability is for when it is destroyed and not sacrificed. I read this somewhere.

Yeah you sure can't. Would be pretty neat if you could, otherwise I'd probably fill this with cheap regenerators to keep the combo going.
