Damn, there are too many ways to build this:1. Auramancer and enchantment synergies 2. More Grim Harvests and Kami of the False Hope3. 8 Creatures (4 monarch 4 guildpact)4. What I have here4.1 What I have here, just differnet4.2 -//-And so on. Thing is, this is a very loose archetype, you have too many options and too few players with too few experimental deviations from what is at any given moment deemed the norm to find out what the best version is.For now, I am betting on a terrifyingly middle of the road compromise:It has monarch while having Grim Harvest while having no KamiIt has no Riftwatchers 2 Clerics and 2 MissionariesIt has Shrieking Grotesque but not CastigateIt doesn't have Custodi Squire and does have a playset of Pestilence This is one of those decks that I can't seem to theorize into a viable state just by drawing a sample hand a hundred times. So... help pls? xD
This is the grindiest midrange deck in the format, it is just below running counterspells or TorEx but above Boros Monarch. It is meant to have the ability to grind whilst retaining the ability to stay low to the ground and stand more than a reasonable chance to win the early game.Grim Harvest is in my opinion the reason to run Grotesuqe and Missionary. With pestilence in play it allows you to play and kill them at least once a turn, giving you a minor advantage while getting your opponent closer to death every time.
