Grixis Control optimized for MTGO Leagues. The goal is to have decent game against the top of the format. The deck is not capable of explosive bullshit, so no single matchup is fantastic. However, besides failing to draw the right colors, it also is not capable of just failing to function completely (barring the absolute dogshit draw that every deck is susceptible to).The maindeck is kind of stock. The only decisions to be made are 8 vs 9 removal spells and Augur vs Preordain. I run Augur because of mono red and because the selection it provides helps smooth out the draws and the manabase (Lórien Revealed). The sideboard is where the cool shit happens:The cards are chosen to deal with Mono Red and Mono Blue efficiently. -- Mono Red: You have Angler, 4 Blasts, and an additional Breath Weapon -- Mono Blue: You sideboard out every single Red card. This way, all the Hydroblasts they bring in turn into dead draws.Affinity is a beast unto itself and I am still figuring it out, but Angler, Relic, and Dispel help a lot. As does Gorilla Shaman of Course.Glee decks are a good matchup as we are able to apply pressure while keeping out shields up. And creature decks like Gruul or Elves can very quickly crumble to all that removal backed by quality threats.
Trade and get ahead. Games differ drastically as the deck is mostly reactive in nature but can also start hardcore slamming protected Terrors from turn 4 and onwards. Generally you want to trade 1-for-1 while either pressuring the opponent's life total or getting ahead on card advantage.
