For an in-depth analysis of the archetype:https://www.mtgvault.com/theswarmer/decks/tortured-existence-essay/This is my most successful adaption of the strategy thus far, it meets all the conditions the deck throws at the player:1. A TE at all times2. A yard with answers to the current situation and a means to reach more answersfor future situations.3. To live to set up 1 and 24. To re-setup 1 and 2 after being hated on in games 2 and 3, hell, or even 1And through the usage of cards like Olivia's Dragoon (enables Grave Scrabbler and blocks Delver) it permits itself to play a bit differently, though cards like Crypt Rats have had a copy or two cut, it probably plays more consistently as well.PS: How reasonable is it to have *only* two Crypt Rats in your opinion?
It does get annoying to put a how to play here every time, but the fault is mine since, afterall, it is me who makes a TE deck every month xDStill, refer to this: https://www.mtgvault.com/theswarmer/decks/tortured-existence-essay/ for everything you need to know.TLDR: You grind everyone out with a deck that is hard to play and build, is not tier 1 and has to meet all the conditions from the "Deck Description" section.I meet condition 4 by running plains and Auramancers, I have found that statistically speaking it is better than having a mana base with more duals, or a sideboard with more space. Everyone has enchantment hate, and you need to combat it. I think the best way to built TE is golgari, and the best way to build Golgari is to sideboard into Abzan xD1. You need green to go look for TE, since you can't run 8 of em. Ergo you need green.2. Going Abzan instead of Golgari in the mainboard makes your mana stupid and tempts you to run noncreature cards and Skyfishers. Ergo stay Golgari.3. You need white game 2 and 3. Ergo go Abzan. Thus 2 plains, 3 fetches, 2 tilling, 1 tusker, 2 auramancer. And hey-presto; screw your Kor Sanctifiers!
